In the picture, solvant should be solvent

Under status, why is "snapshot" linked to the FAQ page, yet nothing on the FAQ page discusses the word snapshot?

--------

The anchors for the FAQ page do not seem to work, clicking http://bitshares.org/faq/index.php?#bips doesn't actually take you to the FAQ Bips definition, it just takes you to the FAQ page.

Holy fucking shit

It took bytemaster like 2 fucking days to make something that is not too embarrassing to show to my friends & family when other people spent like 1 month repeatedly failing at communicating these basic concepts

It takes greatness to make the difficult simple and explain it without jargon. The most urgent need is definitely that we need more bytemasters. It's difficult to delegate when you know it is so much easier to do things yourself, but that in turn can become an impediment to successful collaborative relationships. It's all very familiar and complicated :\

I see the problem. An extra 100 factor.    It is more like basis points with the bad at .000001

MIP is the basic unit of account in all bitshares systems and is short for micro-percent. All balances are represented as a percentage of the current underlying share supply.

are MIP, UIP, etc actually standard? I'm ok with using them if we mean 1/1k, 1/1m, etc

strongly urging you to consider m% and u% instead of MIP for share allocation notation

m% and u% look like math symbols and fancy notation and is not 'pronounceable'...

Either of the notations have the problem that they're mixing percent and engineering notation: m% is 5 decimal places, u% is 8. Those are not numbers that people are used to. I strongly suggest abandoning percentage altogether, and just use engineering notation:

MIP is 1,000th of supply, UIP is 1,000,000th of supply, NIP is 1,000,000,000 of supply (if needed). Please don't make people think in terms of 5 and 8 decimal places.

And I agree with bytemaster, m% looks too weird.

Please spend more time on DACs, not a fancy website...

Actually the fancy website is essential. The present site is beautiful but it lacks a lot of content that is missing badly. If you want Bitshare X or any DAC to succeed the website it is as important as the DAC itself. So in my opinion this is time well spent !!!

Getting more organized with content on the site... one place stop for all things BitShares X....

http://107.170.30.182/bitshares/bank/

I would like toast to create a similar page for DNS...

https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares.org

The content isn't pretty... but at least it is getting organized and we have a place to hook new content as we generate it.

Holy fucking shit is right.  I am humbled once again.  Thank you for the lesson.

you should point bitshares.org at this right away, this is already better

DON'T call bitshares LOTTO "bitshares HOPE"... too much cognitive dissonance

Well actually, I want that to be a charity DAC rather than straight lotto.    Hope for you and hope for others.  It will allocate 25% of lotto ticket sales to charity.  I am working on the details to introduce that concept.

To become a qualified charity you must get at least 5% of the shareholders to accept you, after which point those who buy tickets can select one of the qualified charities.  And of course bitshares.org will be the default charity ;)

Still see Invictus mentioned, aren't we totally phasing that out?
