The top 100 volunteers can start out being a delegate just for the fun of being there when it all begins.

But if you want to remain a delegate, you will need to get and stay elected.
Now would be a good time to start practicing making the case for why you are among the top 100 best delegates in the world.

Example qualifications:

You are well known and trusted.
You have a wickedly high performance and reliable node.
You are located in a diverse geographical location or legal jurisdiction.
You appeal to a big demographic of which you are a member.
You are cheaper than your competitors.
You promise to do something Truly Worthy and Inspiring with your earnings.
You have a cute icon or a clever delegate name.

 :)
So it is like a popularity contest then. Oh well, i prefer to stay anonymous more than pretending to be a celebrity.  :o

Hopefully it is popularity based upon the responsible belief that a delegate will faithfully fulfill the responsibilities of the office in a way that advances the goals of the community.

Nice logos and it is great to see all of the support.

We will be starting another test net in the next 48 hours and I would like everyone who wants to be a delegate to join up to it and register as a delegate.   Instructions will follow once we have completed the process and worked out as many kinks as possible.

sounds great - looking forward to get detailed instructions (how to register as a delegate node) when next test net is up and ready to go!

I'm in too, VPS hosted at http://www.gandi.net in Paris.

Doing it for fun, and for giving back to the bitshares community, and the free software community too.

Been using Linux for +15 years, and I'd like to help build a better, and fairer, financial system for tomorrow, instead of just trying to destroy (or be destroyed by) the one we have today.

I have spare PC from mining so I am able to host a full node full time.

Located near Zagreb, Croatia, EU

Also have Keyhotee founder status if it helps anything to get delegation.
