Author Topic: Shall we rename "XT" to "X" once it is upgraded to avoid confusion?  (Read 4293 times)

I think the "T" was to help distinguish the MVP from the final product; however, I don't think most people followed development closely enough to know the difference.  Simply calling it "X" with the understanding that the chain will be upgraded to include everything is a much better approach IMO.

For sure, if the test is good, why we keep the "T".

Sorry for my poor english, just forget it.

I mean, renaming "XT" to "X" is good.

"Would this add or remove confusion?"  This remove my confusion, thanks a lot.

DISCLAIMER: Actual order of DAC creation may vary, with the exception of BitShares XT, which will be the first to launch, and which will convert into BitShares X once the testing phase is over.

ngl, i always thought that BitShares XT will be renamed to BitShares X after the testing phase is over. Then what exactly do you mean "which will convert into BitShares X once the testing phase is over." ?

Why not naming it something meaningful for everyone and using that (full) name everywhere until people start using abbreviation(s)?

Bitshares Base ?

Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

Seems like people like having one "main" chain. Once XT is upgraded we can call it "BitShares X" for everyone to be able to rally around, since having a family of chains called "bitshares X" is apparently too abstract to handle. This one will have a small number of BitAssets and also normal user-issued assets.

Of course there will still be a family of chains as was always the plan, and I guess we can call it "The BTS X family". "BitShares X" won't trade altcoins or fiat (besides USD), those will be "XC" "XF", etc. All snapshots from bitshares X with 100% initial allocation.

Would this add or remove confusion?

Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.
