what exactly does the snapshot for domains and voting get us holders of PTS?  2 new coins, similar to BTSX?

Based on same BitShares toolkit but with different businesses logic inside, you can read more here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6510

1.
''Snapshot Taken''

http://bitshares.org/industries/voting/

But I agree with you that there should be an annoucements area so it would be easy to find.

3. Well by importing your wallet wallet (and so, your private keys), it's an authentic way to claim your own shares, honestly I dont see any other way to prove you had X PTS on your wallet at a certain time without doing so.

Well, DACs will and can be made by a 3rd party other than Bitshares so it wouldn't make sense to have everything in one single client. Also they each have different chains i guess so how could you incorporate everything into a single one? Im not a technical guy but I just dont know if its even possible to do that atm or if there is another solution. To be honest im not the right person to answer that question.

Thanks Akado! I don't have the technical background to assess whether number 3 is possible either but figured I would ask.

Thank you Akado.

1. Is there an official location that announces that a successful snapshot has taken place? If not, it makes sense to have one.

2. Sounds good.

3. My thought was that in the future new DAC shares might be distributed automatically in some manner without having to do a wallet import. I don't know enough about the PTS or BTSX wallets and how new DACs operate to know whether they even can be linked.

Even better, in my mind one wallet could reflect ones holdings in any BitShares or BitShares affiliated project. Instead of a PTS wallet, BTSX wallet, VOTE wallet, DNS wallet, etc. one would have just a single BitShares wallet.

1. Im guessing you're talking about the latest snapshot for VOTE and DNS DACs. Yes it did occur.

2. Even if you already dont have PTS in your wallet, if you had them at the time of the snapshot, you will still get your shares. Each DAC will launch its software where you can import your wallet to receive them (if im not mistaken)

3. What do you mean automatically distributed? They are distributed, you just have to import your wallet and you will receive shares according to the amount of PTS you had in your wallet at the moment of the snapshot

Someone correct me if i said something wrong.

Snapshot Questions
« Reply #1 on: August 24, 2014, 09:25:55 pm »
I purchased PTS last week before the snapshot and have some questions.

1. Did the snapshot occur? Where would I find that confirmation?

2.  What happens if I sell my PTS before either of the new DACs launch? How do I get the shares due me? The way I understand it one imports their PTS wallet into the new DACs wallet to redeem their shares. Is that correct? Does each new DAC really launch a wallet? If I import my wallet without any PTS any longer will I still get the shares due me?

3. Are there plans for shares in new DACs to be automatically distributed to PTS/AGS snapshot holders?

Thank you for the help in understanding the process.
