We could also airdrop on financial institutions... @morganstanley.com, fanniemae.com, @ing.com

Any type of email that only traders / financial types will have limited access to. These are the kind of people who "trend set" in the industry we're looking to disrupt.

hmm actually it might be more effective to speak to them on the phone or in person at financial events or something and offer them some a few btsx to play around with on the system.  I think any airdrops/giveaways need to be done with people who have consented and said they want to try it out.

Then again, we could always send the email and ask if they want to participate.

That would be hilarious.

Highly targeted airdrops could be a very effective tool, the sooner it's organised the better, before every other crypto is doing it.

I like it but which schools? What about schools of finance, technology, and business specific?

The ".edu" top-level domain is only for institutes of higher education in the US. I know the UK, for example, uses ".ac.uk" for its universities. So there are probably loads of different educational TLDs around the world. It may look unfair if we only offer this to the US. Targeting a few top institutions around the world may be a better way of doing it. Similar to the MIT Bitcoin drop: http://tech.mit.edu/V134/N22/bitcoin.html
*agreed* .. I'd didn't know .edu is US-only .. explains alot

I love airdrops. We've talked about them on here many times. The topic of airdrops to certain universities, or at least their computer science departments, had been mentioned. I'm all for doing this, especially if the airdropped stakes have a time-limit for being claimed. It's a win-win situation in my mind. But there's been considerable opposition from within the community here each time the discussion gets very far.

Most US universities have a domain .edu ... ie "mit.edu" ..
airdropping on them means free shares for people at universities ..

Perhaps an idea to consider (when we're ready for it) is to set up a faucet for anyone with a .edu email address. You could even target specific Universities.

I missed something.... any chance for a link on what .edu is?
