Are there any exact number yet for the distribution of NOTE?
How many NOTES are PTS/AGS/... holder entitled to? Not the percentage but actual numbers

quoted from:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9387.30

Just some quick napkin math that I did:

5 million daily x 60 days = 300 million NOTES presale
I
Presale is 20%, so:

300 million / 0.20 = 1.5 billion (1500 million) NOTES total

AGS/PTS each get 35% as stakeholders, so 525 million NOTES each.

You can calculate the amount you would get based on angelshares:

525 million * (your AGS) / (1,000,000) (2,000,000) = your angelshare NOTES

Edit: Forgot that there were 2mil AGS :P  Thanks clayop
« Last Edit: October 06, 2014, 08:26:11 AM by pariah99 »

*******************************************************

So it means
1 AGS = 262.5 Notes
1 PTS =  ± 298 Notes

Correct me if I'm wrong.

thank you.. and that's all I need to do? so how then will I claim Notes after with my PTS wallet.. sorry, new to this.. haven't had experienced snapshot before
You will be asked to import the private key for the address that held the address during snapshot..
in the case of PTS wallet you can import the wallet.dat file (given the passphrase)

it's the same as with btsx:
http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/Bitshares-x-how-to#Attempting_a_wallet_import_to_receive_BTSX_from_February_28th_snapshot

Offline Riverhead

The snapshot takes a point-in-time picture of all the balances of every address in the PTS blockchain. The new blockchain genesis block has all those balances added and signed with the public key. The only way to claim them is with the private keys from those addresses.

When it's time to claim you can either:
1) Dump all the private keys in your PTS wallet (don't forget the change addresses) and import them one at a time.

Or the easy way:
1) The client should have the ability to read your wallet.dat file of your BitShares-PTS. It will ask you the passphrase to unlock the wallet and then cycle through all the private keys claiming your Notes.

Once either method is complete send your Notes back to yourself so they have "moved" off the genesis block. Make sure your music wallet is backed up because once you do this step there will be no re-claiming if you lose it.

how do i take a snapshot of my pts wallet for the notes share?

keep them in a wallet you control the private key

or

hold them in an exchange who are honoring the snapshot

as far as i know - bter and btc38 are honoring the snapshot (they will do the work for you, but you have to trust them)

The website doesn't say anything about AGS. Doesn't make it clear what % goes to PTS and what is actually issues. Very confusing.

Says 1.5B shares, but is that total or just from the crowdsale?!

On the website it says the following:

"his allows for micro transactions which in turn allows the free flow of funds from fan to artist without anyone in the middle taking a huge cut."

I would remove the word "huge" because this makes it sound like PeerTracks takes a cut, but just a small one. When actually, to the best of my knowledge, it doesnt take any cut.

What I'm suppose to do is download this wallet

And is this the latest wallet, it says it's from Feb 17?

Or you could diversify and leave some on BTC38, they said they would honor the snapshot. The benefit of having some there is that they may allow trading BEFORE the actual product is out. So if you are going to need some of that money, it might come in handy. Same thing happened with BTSX. I haven't heard from BTER and whether they would honor it as well but most likely yes.

Is it possible to snapshot bitPTS that exists in the bitshares-x system?

Edit: (posted this to reddit too, but this is probably a better place to discuss this):

Quote
I understand that bitshares-x is just one DAC, but i'm unsure as to whether future DACS created by the same developers that created BTSX will only snapshot PTS/AGS for initial distribution of the new DAC, or if a snapshot of BTSX will also be taken.

I've been looking into PTS/AGS - AGS was a once off developer fund so you can only really buy PTS in order to get a share of the next new DAC without buying the new dac coins from an exchange.

What's worse is that PTS is a proof of work cryptocurrency that whilst once was a cpu only crypto, is now a GPU minable crypto using semi-untrustworthy mining software. Why hasnt PTS been upgraded to DPOS yet? People are kinda saying that PTS has been abandoned..

Wouldn't DPOS make more sense? As we would see the newly created DACS becoming the most trusted delegates, which would in turn help fund core development of DACS?

http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/BitShares_Social_Consensus

The social consensus states that 10% goes to PTS, 10% goes to AGS minimum, but couldnt another 10% go to BTSX holders?

Will we be able to buy BitShares Music in BTSX?
no

btw.. the questions is just wrong. should have been

weill we be able to buy notes (from bitshares music)  in BitsharesX (paying BTSX or bitUSD)

BTSX = tokenin bitsharesx
bitUSD = token pegged to USD
BitSharesX = DAC/blockchain
Note = token in bitshares music
bitshares Music = DAC/blockchain

No, a few massive changes were made in the way future DACS might be launched. We will be testing out the new method. Details to come within the next 48hours.

Yes. I want to point out he should use PTS/AGS snapshot instead of PTS alone.

Just to be clear that it also honors AGS or what?

AGS snapshot could have happened yesterday and it would be the same.

You're correct. But if AGS is not mentioned, who knows that AGS snapshot will be taken? (In the worst case scenario, no AGS snapshot can be taken) Thanks to cob, he clarified the AGS snapshot.

a snapshot is only needed, because every day PTS is traded and so ownership is transfered. AGS is fixed.

Make sure you have your PTS out of the exchanges and into your wallets by october 10th 2014 at midnight.
So the first second of October 10th 2014 is when the snapshot will be taken.

This is GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time zone, or UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) we are talking about here.

Keep in mind the BitShares PTS confirmation time is pretty slow and random. So don't wait until the last second to act or your PTS might not have been included in a block in time for the snapshot.

As for the NOTE allocation at Genesis block, this is to be announced during the weekend. This post will be updated with the relevant thread. Keep you eyes on the forum!

Edit: to clarify. AGS is also getting a stake in the music DAC of course. Only no action is required by AGS holders since the AGS donation campaign ended already. They cannot be sold, nor purchased.

Keep in mind the BitShares PTS confirmation time is pretty slow and random. So don't wait until the last second to act or your PTS might not have been included in a block in time for the snapshot.

As for the NOTE allocation at Genesis block:
35% PTS
35% AGS
20% upcoming pre-sale
10% BitShares Music Foundation

Keep in mind delegates will be able to dilute the Note supply if Note holders vote for it. The details are being workout out by bytemaster in this thread: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9452.0
They might not have to dilute and BitShares Music will most likely have a cap on the amount of dilution possible but just so you are aware ahead of time, this allocation is for genesis block.

Edit: to clarify. AGS is also getting a stake in the music DAC of course. Only no action is required by AGS holders since the AGS donation campaign ended already. They cannot be sold, nor purchased.

(This post is just for people that have not checked out the music forum. Please debate delegate pay / dilution in it's respective thread.)
