Venture capital has also been pouring into Bitcoin startups at a rabid pace (north of $100m so far this past year).

One of Bytemaster's themes in Vegas is the impact that DPOS could have on the profitability and growth of the crypto industry.

In his speech and various interviews he would like to quote some examples of what the industry could do with the half-billion USD Bitcoin has burned on mining during the past year.

To do that, he could use a little data:

How much total investment was made by the industry in the past year?

That includes venture capital investments, crowd-sales, new startups, investments in new infrastructures, point of sale devices, etc.

If you have seen any estimates or actual data published by individual companies or industry analysts, please post links to the info here.

Thanks!
