USB Yeti :/
No interface.

I sang through an f'ing pillow with gain turned all the way down... from 3-4 feet away.

maybe the yeti is not good for singing loud rock songs...?

How do you sing through a pillow?

I asked my sound engineer about your yeti problem and he just puckered his face and said better to get a different mic and a "real" recording interface.

I'm of limited help when it comes to the technical aspects of recording, but can offer a few thoughts:  Generally you want to be 6" - 1' away from the mic.  The room you're recording in will make a huge difference.  Try to be in a smaller space with no sharp/pointy/bouncy edges.  Use carpets, hang blankets, etc.

When listening to your second recording I still hear a lot of distortion.  Your voice is lovely and needs a good setup to do it justice!

Poked about online and this yeti thread may be helpful:  http://recording.org/index.php?threads/blue-yeti-voice-not-clear.54607/

If the yeti doesn't end up working for you and you decide to go with another mic/interface setup it'd be worth checking into used presonus or mo2u - good deals can often be found on those..

is this your stuff??!  This is some epic new age poetry!  Add in these instrumentals...I love it.
Yes!  We're currently a trio.  I'm the violinist, co-composer, and sometimes lyricist.

Do you happen to know why my voice seems so fuzzy when I have to put force behind it?  I am using a blue yeti and I have read it is a decent mic for vocals...but it seems to not do justice.
Hard to say.  How close are you to the mic? What interface/equipment besides the mic are you using to record?

Overdriving the mic probably... turn down the gain or sing through a pair of pantyhose (not joking) preferably while they're being worn  ;D
Alternatively stand a step back from the mic stand or put a sock over it if you have it in your hand (the mic that is)  8)

tonyk and donkeypong get it - and JoeyD has found the official bitshares Roadmap and forum theme song...

donkeypong - if we go with NYD, it's got to be Red Rocks:

tonyk - Imagine will be the perfect, permanent theme song as soon as we're done using this one:

Welcome To The Blockchain

:o Just wow. Didn't expect it to have this quality. Amazing.

Is there a version where every "Bitcoin" is replaced by "BitShares" though?  ;)
No seriously, awesome job. Love it.
