help with mining

hi. I have two questions.

my pc is AMD Phenom(tm) II N620 Dual-Core Processor × 2 64 bit 3.6 gigs ram running ubuntu 12.04.

ive had a little bit of success with the generic linux ff one, but i still feel its kind of slow.

second question: how would I go about compiling the protoshare wallet from source?
