SportsDAC

Had a million ideas of late, here's another one I thought I'd put out there and will possibly see if there is a certain crypto-currency we might be able to use to gauge the value of this idea (1:1 payout for PTS holders, as I feel it should be).

Basically the concept is to implement a DAC for sports. The idea is still pretty raw at this stage as I just blurted it out at my friends the other night whilst watching the football. People would create different games derived from the Sports DAC that can be viewed by all people through an interface of some kind. The shareholders of the DAC would receive dividends from the transmission fees from end users accessing the content. The twist will be that all the "players" of a game will be DAC's as well. They would be rewarded for completing certain objectives (scoring a goal, completing X amount of the total playing time etc) which is also derived from the transmission fees of viewers. This would also allow other people to own shares in sports athletes and gain a percentage of their winnings from completing the aforementioned objectives. I think this would ad quite a twist to sport and would possibly lead to the development of new sports which aim to increase their viewership through the use of the DAC technology (being able to own players will certainly add a twist and could lead to many unthought of gaming ideas).

I have been thinking it could be derived from ProtoMediaShares (which will credit PTS @ 1:1) as it would require the ability to share the live video in a decentralised manner (which this ProtoDAC's grandchildren will likely/hopefully address) plus possibly others by the time this idea is likely to take off (could have integrated betting in the interface for instance which is linked to a Gamble DAC). That being the case all DAC's that have provided technology for this DAC would be credited so for example ProtoMediaShares holders might receive a 1/2 a share for every share they hold, Gamble DAC holder 1/2 a share for every share they hold then an additional amount for other people to purchase would be created in the genisis block (probably just twice the amount paid to honoured DAC's).

As I said this is a raw idea, I haven't actually written anything other then this down yet (unlike other plans) so I haven't thought of all the flaws and what not, just trying to get more ideas out there to help others get things moving. Further suggestions would be greatly welcome (as long as you don't send me mad by trying to convince that something is decentralised when it is not!).

I really like the idea of a sport betting dac. I would work on that.

I think there is a pony in there somewhere.

That pony was lovely.  There is such a Huge Market for people who play fantasy sports that an even more in-depth version that rewards you for numerous stats.  Allows you to bet on games...or pony races.  Very interesting concept.

FYI I meant my original reply to mean I thought it had potential but it just was not clear to me

Actually, I think something like this would work...

The odds would be determined by how many ppl bet on whatever outcome side. The money is kept in the chain as long as the contest runs and the the grader of the contest would receive a small percentage of the pool.

Been working as a software developer for sportsbetting/horseracing/casino operators for the last 15 years in Antigua and i am sure that even pro operators would be  interested in something like that.

Yeah I think the market for this is big but it's a huge project that I feel requires a few other DAC's to appear to create services that could be utilised to make this happen. My weekend is looking free so I'll try and knock up a break down of how this may work (please anyone else feel free to contribute a 'vision', that's the point of DAC's in my opinion, we all contribute).

I also think it'll take a while to implement because it's an example of a DAC that would have to interact will physical entities (i.e. the athletes, teams etc.) which most of the other ideas proposed so far don't extend into (short I suppose of the end users/developers/moderators). In my head I can see a future world where there would be DAC's that act in a similar fashion, take for example of power plant DAC. It would require physical generators to produce the energy so there would be an overlap with the digital corporation and the physical products of the real world. These sort of projects, at least to get to the scale I imagine them, would require very large amounts of capital which means more promoting the idea of DAC's to the general public to get investors/developers/whatever interested (I still encounter friends who don't know what bitcoin is despite it being in the News heavily at the moment...).

Ok, so what kind of betting are we talking about. I'm actually not a sports better, but I've been to some horse races and I won 2000 in Vegas playing poker.

Let's just start simple. First, we just make a DAC that takes betters.
Example, I bet 100 on team A. You bet 10 on team B. Team A wins. Let's say that the total pool of money was 1000. There were 3, (100$) bets for team A. The rest were for team B. Team B betters get nothing. The pool is then split between the winners. And I think this is it. Our first DAC. We take the money from this DAC and make a DAC 2.0 with a more complicated system until we build up to something like horse racing and fantasy football. What do you think? I'm all in if we can find the developers.

I can code but not at the level of making a DAC. I can do all the front end stuff like making a website and building a community of supporters. I also think I have some key solutions to some of the problems in making this DAC, not to sound brainy or anything. I would also love to implement the lottery mining system. This is a betting DAC after all.

Good work guys... focus on the business model of the DAC... get that solid and funding / coders can be found.
