BTER & EgoPay wallet funding
« on: December 10, 2014, 02:25:56 AM »

Wow, I never thought it would be that complicated to buy crypto.  :-\
Of course I am a total newbie but if you don't know how, it can really test your patience.

Now, I think it is a good lesson if we want BTS to be accessible to the audience who don't know about BTC.

Basically, I went to bter.com to buy BTS. But then I have to buy from EgoPay because they don't accept fund.
Once in EgoPay, I can't fund directly from my CC, I have to open a Payza Account?

Or I can use on of those weird looking exchange where everything is in russian?

Now am I doing something wrong here or it's normal to have to go through so many loops just to buy BTS?

There is a very regulated and secure exchange for buying bitcoin in Canada here:
https://www.cavirtex.com/home

There are bitcoin ATM's in several Canadian cities where you can put in Canadian cash and get out bitcoin. Do a google search.

If you download the mycelliuum bitcoin wallet on to your android, it has the fucntion of searching out buyers and sellers of bitcoin in your area.
http://mycelium.com/

Another option:  https://localbitcoins.com/

Once you have bitcoin, it is easy to send them to BTER and trade for BTS.

Yeah, egopay with Bter is pretty terrible and expensive.

But you make a good point! We should have a newbie "how to go from fiat to BTS" guide on the wiki.
