We only considered asking to be a delegate because bitCNY and Bitshares would require us to shift our development focus to implement the changes needed. Which would allow us to implement the changes faster.

Are you planning to make the code open source which would help other exchanges add integration to Bitshares easily? If yes, then you're guaranteed a paid delegate.

i would appreciate this

Yes, the API wrapper we write will be made open source. We will also provide tests and documentation.

We are interested in moving forward with this plan we have registered our accounts, we are still reviewing the codebase and planning the best way to approach the creation of this new adaptor. We are deciding if we want to create a bridge abstraction that makes it mimic the output of the Satoshi API or just build a complete API wrapper. We are determining the best way to obtain the shares needed to register as a delete too.

I will advance you the bitshares to run a delegate provided you pay me back first once elected in advance of any other distributions.

If interested, PM me.

We really appreciate the offer and the encouragement everyone has provided. Thank you for all the advice and support.

We decided to invest 10 BTC as an initial starting investment into BitShares and used a portion of that to fund our delegation.

I would suggest posting in general forum once you are ready to get votes. That subforum gets the most attention.

Thank you for the suggestion, we were considering posting in the delegation forum when we had our proposal ready and obtain the necessary BTS.

Would it be considered fair to post the original topic in the General Discussion to see if it garners more interest?

There is lots of interest in your upcoming delegate here :)  If you create a delegate proposal I suggest doing it it in the delegate subforum explaining in detail what you plan to do.  You can create the proposal there before actually taking the delegate live.  Once it's live and your campaign is running if you need more votes posting about it once in the general forum is usually acceptable, or your supporters can do it for you (best option).

As others have said, being a fiat-BitShares gateway in the future would make your delegate very popular in the community.  Staying within crypto though I would still vote for you.  The more bitassets integrated the better I would think.

We could release the API wrapper we build for the BitShares client immediately upon completion.

The code for our accounting system (Vault) won't be made public/open source until we finish and release our enterprise-grade payment gateway Onyx.io. Our plan is to release the source code so it can peer reviewed and others in the cryptocurrency community can more easily build secure applications, that feature abstracted accounting above the clients, support proof-of-reserves, cold-storage and other essential tools to operate secure and transparent cryptocurrency services.

We are already doing what you describe with NuBits and it is working very well. We are considering doing the same thing for bitCNY then expand from there.

Did you receive some kind of financial/developer support from NuBits to do so?

No, since they used the Satoshi client it was trivial to incorporate their coin into our current accounting & proof-of-reserves system. The community has voted to provide our exchange with liquidity.

Which would allow us to implement the changes faster. We also plan on releasing our multi-coin account system (Codenamed Vault) open source eventually and feel the BitShares community and others would benefit for their adapter to be added to this project.

I like the approach towards quality and professionalism you take!

My recommendation would be to consider being a fiat gateway into the crypto world that is not only trading USD against BTC like Bitstamp does and unlike many other exchanges that only trade cryto to crypto. That surely would be more difficult to accomplish but would actually set you apart from your competition.

I recommend this look into the future to see where the crypto space might be in one or two years from now http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/update/2014/12/18/Benefits-of-Being-a-BitShares-Gateway/
as well as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzruOULgmng which gives a bit a broader perspective on the matter.

Good luck and welcome to our community!

Why should I trade on your exchange instead of trading on other big cryptocurrency exchange?  ???

Great question.

We are advocates of cryptocurrency and are not in this business only to make a profit. We have strict quality standards, we use our exchange to spotlight true innovation within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

We vet each coin added to our exchange, review the source code and weigh the merits. Doing this not only ensures true development gets rewarded but keeps our exchange more secure since we are less likely to install a wallet with a security issue. (Read more about our process here: https://blackwavelabs.com)

Our exchange is built on top of a Golang based trading engine giving enabling high levels of concurrency, as we grow this should allow for stable trading even at incredibly high volumes.

We have a continuos proof-of-reserves system that we are working to improve. This allows users to ensure that we have all their funds and they are properly accounted for at all times.

We have a very robust API, we allow users to issue multiple API keys with varied permissions. We provide open source API wrappers and real-time bots to quickly make use of it.

Our deposits show up instantly, you will see your transaction with 0 confirmations soon as your transaction is broadcasted to the network. You will get updates on our website the moment you see them in your client. We do not use cron jobs or other short polling methods that cause unnecessary delays.

We request that you login and look around and please offer any suggestions or feedback you might have. We believe our real-time UI is simple and easy to use.

We are approaching 100 BTC 24H Volume today and we have only been operating for two months, we believe the above reasons are why our userbase is growing so quickly.

We are still researching the BitShares project and codebase. We appreciate all the feedback we have gotten so far.
