[Discussion] Website and Timeline
« on: December 12, 2013, 10:39:08 PM »

Hey guys! My name is Shawn Wilkinson, you all probably know me as Super3. I'll be working on all of the web stuff for Invictus from now on. I have experience as a Bitcoin Developer, the Peercoin Web Lead, and many many other projects. Working in the next day or two to bring me on as Full Time staff, so I'll be around way more often.

Protoshares.net is currently live, but is still a work in progress. You can use this topic to discuss, but the only changes that will be made will be pull requests or raised issues on https://github.com/super3/protoshares.net/issues. I can't possibly follow every topic on the forum, so this will allow me to respond to each and close it out when it is done.

Invictus-Innovations will begin to work on this in the next few days in-line with the kayotee launch.

Bounties that are outstanding for the website and copy will be paid Saturday or so. I'm still sitting in the hotel room for the conference so let me just get home so I can send those out.

Timeline The growth we have experienced in the past month usually takes a year. Lets discuss in this topic that the timeline for web development in our community, and how we can best allocate our time, personnel, and resources to get this done quickly and better than any others.

What will happen to ProtoShares logo? Is it confirmed to be changed, or let the community voting result decide?

Will the websites have multi-language support? Is there any plan on it?

Is it guaranteed the redesigned Invictus website online before the keyhotee launch? The worst case will be a half-cooked one.

There are numerous important concepts/articles about DACs/PTS, I think just providing links in protoshares.net is not enough.

Is it possible to make http://protoshares.net shorter vertically? Personally, I prefer a compact design like:
http://www.megacoin.co.nz/

Megacoin's site is cool. But the bitshare project is really big and kind of complicated. I think we need the longer vertical style to explain things in a controlled way. Otherwise, people will just start clicking on stuff and quickly become lost in a sea of information.

As far as as the logo I think that needs to be part of an entire branding discussion. I think we should bring in our new guy Brian Page, and have a conversation with the community on how we best go about that.

Yes. As soon as we a clear on what we want to say in English we will immediately translate it to Chinese. Russian will also probably be the next step. I think those are our largest market caps right now. Any other suggestions?

Because of the time crunch I'll probably have an intermediate site. Something that looks way better and get people the info they need till we can get our killer site ready.

I don't think everyone is satisfied with the content on the site as of now. Let's focus on that before we start worrying about design preferences.

I don't think Brian is actually home yet from the conference. I'm actually still here.

Yes, I think there is confusion. The bitshare project is way more than protoshares. If you want to pump and dump then promote protoshaees, but if you really want to go big then we need to brand the whole bit shares project, which is what I think most of us want.

Mine. I believe in working smart not hard. That pays for servers, advertising, and my writers.
Hey perhaps I could make the Protoshares.com website into a mini-DAC with dividends based on revenue!
