What's actually going on?
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:50:14 AM »

Is it just me that finds it so hard to keep up to date with all that's new in the bitshares world or am I just missing a thread with it all listed or something? A lot of other coins have a roadmap kind of thing sometimes in a nice visual which I think would be great for bitshares somewhere to keep updated weekly.  I follow all the YouTube videos/interviews, bitsharestv, Dan's blog etc but things move so fast. A simple list of planned developments and estimated release dates would be great, I look forward to the android wallet. Keep up the great work everyone! :)

Funny thing about deadlines. They don't work all that well with BitShares.

You can keep an eye on this if you want. Ou guys are working hard for sure.

Ahh that's good thanks but ultimately we need something more visually appealing and official looking. A nice graphic listing upcoming developments would be perfect to spread around on social media sites and get the attention of investors. The marketing teams should be doing this asap IMO the whole thing is too complicated to follow for average person working away from computer 5 days a week.

Yeah nice but it doesn't even say what its counting down to really. Very vague.

I think a lot of you have forgotten how to look at all this from a normal persons perspective that is new to this technology.

It is counting down to the relaunch of the website, and some PR campaign stuff.

1.0 should release a few weeks later probably.

I know that because of digging around in threads on here. My point was people that don't have time to visit to forum for hours don't have a clue what's going on and planned for the future.

I'm not hating I'm just pointing out this area needs looking at from marketing perspective asap.

I agree with that fact that the site isn't that explicit. If I didn't read somewhere else I'd try to guess it would be v1.0 and if I wasn't in the forums at all or barely came here, my guess would be the release of another DAC or Snapshot.

Although I think it would be kind of difficult to have a detailed road map since there are lots of testing and technical stuff that needs to be sorted out first, in my opinion a more general one should be made so that we could share it with the public. I just lack the needed photoshop skills lol

something like:

------February(v1.0 release)------March(Marketing Campaign, PeerTracks Wallet Release)----May(New DAC Snapshot)------June(TBA)

dunno if things were dated right, it's just an example. Basically, just general stuff

Do we know if the site is going to be like bitsharesblocks?

There was a good idea here:
http://bitsapphire.com/dac-git-branching/

But I think it has been abandoned?

Since bitshares constantly needs to adapt to expand and improve perhaps software features specifically targeting delegate reviews and analysis would answer the question permanently for everyone. Imagine the client allows users to view the delegates page and re-sort and filter the list by project name so you see which delegates are working on the same kind of projects. Under each project is a list of links to milestones and funding goals. These are connected to crypto-assurance contracts and you can click any project and see how much funds have been raised and what is needed. Perhaps delegates have links to their special offers. A chart of each delegates voting history over time is a useful metric to make available. We can connect these forums via direct links in the client where all the specifics on each row could be discussed. The other side of the coin is a listing of bounties managed via assurance contracts and escrow access. All of the criticals for newbies are plugged into the client which is the transparent center in our decentralized network, maaaaaaan. Many of these features are already being worked into the mix. Once these tools become available even newbies will be up to date and plugged into participating with whats happening.

That does look like a good idea.. immediate sense of the various DACs will be useful.
