create a .sh file in /etc/init.d (chmod +x)
update-rc.d startPS.sh default

you can also add it to crontab -e
@reboot /home/user/startPS.sh

Anyone know how to start protoshares automatically upon boot (Ubuntu)?

I've tried:
sudo nano /etc/rc.local

and adding:
cd /home/me/ProtoShares
./protosharesd
exit 0

It changes into the ProtoShares directory successfully, but checking top, shows that protosharesd is not started.
