At least in the USA, and perhaps elsewhere, what something is called rather than what it is often has more standing with the law.  Calling it a bank would bring US regulators down on us like a ton of bricks.

I think it makes sense to drop the BitShares but keep the X branding.

People new to bitshares already have a hard time trying to understand it and confuse things, changing names again, this soon would only add to the confusion
