this is very odd should I delete my wallet and re download? or registering a new name help maybe?

before sending him funds you must "+Add Contact" and type a contact name for his address and don't try to sent straighjt to the public address you have...
Send only to account names and if you have an address like now link the address to names you choose  using "+Add Contact" option...  ;)
