My ID is already registered in genesis?
« on: October 07, 2014, 02:00:50 AM »

So I was trying to register my id "kokojie", and saw it was already registered. So I thought someone took it already, then I check the directory, and saw the id "kokojie" was registered in "genesis"? what does this mean?

BitShares DNS takes all IDs which was registered at BitSharesX as delegates.
If "kokojie" it's your ID at BitSharesX, you don't need to register go to console of BitSharesX and type:
Quote
wallet_dump_private_key kokojie

In BitShares DNS, create wallet, go to console and type:
Quote
wallet_import_private_key <private key>

My BTS account 'networker' is a standby delegate.
But when I dump it's private key from bts wallet and import private key to Keyid account. It shows
10 assert_exception: Assert Exception
account_name.size(): You must specify an account name because the private key does not belong to any known accounts
Why does this happen? Please help me. BTW 'networker' is a Founder ID but is not included in BTS genusis block, so I register it on bts blockchain myself.
Does it matter?

Did you update your Keyhotee registration at April?

If yes, you chould double check your Keyhotee registration with Stan.

'networker' on genesis of BitShares DNS:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9380.0
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/keyid/keyid/e2bb322fd63e44a58fcef4aa464ddaca557f1b55/libraries/blockchain/genesis_keyid.json

You should be able to export/import private keys and get acccess to your account in DNS as I describes above.

I update my Keyhotee registration at June. But it is late for BTS genesis block. So after BTS run,  I register 'networker' again in BTS blockchain and it is successful.
Should I import my Keyhotee private key to KeyID ? How do I know my Keyhotee private key,  I cann't find such option in Keyhotee

Download latest Keyhotee 0.7.100 from ftp://178.63.85.22/Keyhotee/Windows/2014-04-27_00-00-43/Keyhotee-0.7.100-win32.exe
In this version you should see 2 small buttons in your identity window for export public/private keys to the clipboard.

I used Keyhotee 0.7.1 to register 'network' on June. I found  Keyhotee public key for 'networker' is different from the public key listed in https://raw.githubusercontent.com/keyid/keyid/e2bb322fd63e44a58fcef4aa464ddaca557f1b55/libraries/blockchain/genesis_keyid.json
How could this happend?

When you register, did you send your new public key to I3? If no, it's explain everything, in genesis left your old public key.

I only sent 3i my old Keyhotee public key. You mean. 3i use it in KeyID genesis block?
If I can find old Keyhotee data,  can I dump it's private key ?

Yes, 3I use your current public key at all blockchains but old key will not work  :(

We recently discovered a problem with the way we're generating public keys in Keyhotee, and the best solution we could come up will require re-registering your Keyhotee Founder IDs.

You should contact Stan by e-mail: info [at] bitshares.org

Stan just replay to your question: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9787.msg127443#msg127443
