Think of all the TLDs that could be offered through Toast:

.pbj
.jam
.jelly
.butter
.plain

I really like where this is going.

TNS - Toast Naming Service: Awesome.

How about .toast as a TLD?

tonyk nailed 2 things:

1. "Crumbs" are a great name for units.

2. He just ended the hunt for a marketing slogan..."Bitshares Toast: The best thing since sliced bread "

BitShares PTS / Re: PTS upgrade poll
« on: August 02, 2014, 09:19:55 pm »
I agree it's a bad PR move (actually the whole DPOS upgrade is any way you approach it), I'm just saying it doesn't go to the devs and it isn't instant.

In one respect.

However, transitioning to DPoS is also a sign that the PTS community has rejected mining as wasteful and unproductive AND adopts DPoS as a sign of "skin-in-the-game" support for Invictus-developed blockchain technology.

If there is anybody out there that still believes that mining allows for fair distribution - they should be ignored, because they haven't been paying attention.

We should make the transition and look forward to the incoming criticism as a good opportunity to spotlight the PoW/PoS debate.

Isn't it an option to disperse the remaining shares to the existing shareholders relative to their current holdings?

There should be.

This solution carried over to a DPoS platform seems the most fair and obvious, allowing for PTS and AGS to carry 2 million units each.

Question:
If PTS was transitioned to a DPoS platform (with no additional load, such as bitassets) - wouldn't a home desktop with a moderately fast internet connection be more than enough hardware and bandwidth for potential delegates?

General Discussion / Re: 8/21 DUAL SNAPSHOT

Great news, toast.

Can we get the snapshot announcement given more prominent placement?

I'd like to suggest it as a permanent replacement for the AGS announcement at the top of the forum, with a link to the sticky thread.

Silly Coinmarketcap - it's not November yet...

For those interested, Triangulation did a pretty good interview recently:

Can we get a quick how-to for exporting our Keyhotee private keys and importing them to BTSX.

Many thanks.

Have you guys considered doing several different versions using much of the same material?

I can see a use for:

A "full-length" version with fairly detailed descriptions of each benefit.
A short, more generic version for the quick hit.
A version that spotlights the individual benefits separately, for use in different demographics.
(I can see liberty-focused groups having more interest in the higher resistance to confiscation, business-focused individuals might have more interest in discouraging squatters, while 2.0 investment-focused might have more interest in the income distribution.)

Non-technical delegate, reporting.

I think we should probably consider that the best move to be made here is to give Mr. Byrne the best possible advice, which it seems he has yet to receive.

"Wait."

IMO, Brian and Dan should approach Mr. Byrne with a detailed descriptions of the various available platforms, including the risks, benefits, structure, function and possibility of each.

That alone should at convince him to allow the space to develop and mature with smaller projects at least long enough to consider something like Overstock.

Part of that would be waiting for Bitshares X, ME and others to launch.

Overstock would be insane to jump in too soon - being one of the first would be be nice, but I would suspect that with a company offering as much spotlight as Overstock, having a bad launch or experience with blockchain based shares could set back the entire space for a good amount of time.

I think being first to market is being much too overvalued by a few people here.

Bitcoin and Cryptoequities are no longer toys.

Real money is entering the space and it is being carried in new waves of adopters who will be less forgiving of major errors.

The smart people and smart money are not placing maximum value on first-to-market - they are watching and waiting for at least minimal maturation before making significant moves.

I think we may be better off leaving bips exclusive for bank and exchange chains.

I think notes are best fit for artist issued assets.

313
Ugh.

Well, coins are already synonymous with blockchains, so...

Coins and Notes?

314
Blockchain units: shares

Artist issued assets: notes

I support using AGS, but not without a developer.
