Just a thought on that graphic above..

Perhaps worth avoiding use of only BTS and BTC. Obviously, we're familiar with those but perhaps better for noobs to state "BitShares (BTS) and BitCoin (BTC)" explicitly wherever there is room for that.

Thanks for the tip. Noted it down.

We are going to start sending out invites to the selected 30 people on Monday. Prepare yourself guys!

only 30 tester?

30 is enough to get a clear overview on what needs to be changed/fixed. In a week or two, after fixing all the major bugs, we will gradually let more people on the platform. But for now, spots are limited.

18
After long waiting we can officially announce that the very first trading platform for Bitshares and Protoshares is ready to take Beta Testers!

The spots are limited and we do only allow 30 Bitsharestalk.org members on the platform! For the beta you will not require anything and don't need to move over any of your assets - you can freely and securely play around! For the Bitshares trading we are using "BellaCoin" as a substitute to imitate the trading for our Bitshares and Protoshares. Each beta tester will be granted 500 Bitshares (Bellacoins) and $2000 for the trading. Real trading for BTC/PTS will start next week after Invictus has checked our cold storage method and can confirm that everything is done correctly! Additionally, we have approached several security auditors and will report back once we know more.

We will keep close contact with all 30 beta testers and create a Skype group where we thoroughly discuss bugs/fixes and where users can suggest improvements. The purpose of this beta is it to prepare the platform for the official launch in a few weeks.

I searched for bithaus, if there is already a website, and found that there are 2 websites, one with a .com and another with a .jp domain already. Just for your information, not that you make the same mistake as it happened with protoshares, peace

Thanks for informing us. Yes we have already seen this and bithaus.com was created back in 2000. Right now I'm in talks with its owner, else we have another solution :)

Cheers!

Additionally, change the background image. Bitshares is not about 2 young people collaborating or doing something together.

At one glimpse, the user should understand that Bitshares is about finance, profits, prosperity for everyone etc. maybe use some of the big finance metropolis as a background image. But the current one is definitely not the image we want to express.

There are going to be a few announcements next week.

General Discussion / Re: Bts exchange

We have been working on it now for the past 4 months and we are probably going to be the first exchange for Bitshares. You can check our thread here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2943.0

Right now the demo is up and running and in about a weeks time we'll go into beta. A DAC exchange is surely something we'll work on as well!

To give you guys another update:

Right now, we are in talks with Invictus and are soon going to approach the community in regards to AGS fund allocation or a sort of crowd-funding style to raise money for the acceleration of our endeavor. Next week we will offer a proper proposal with our platform demo (exchange, wallet, fiat), business plan and a marketing strategy.

If you guys could go through my past thread https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2247.msg26600#msg26600 and forward me any criticism/concerns/insight in regards to the strategy please forward them to me and I will offer a solution to all of them.

You will be amazed by what we have planned and what we will have to offer!
If you have any questions, shoot me a PM

Stay tuned.

Let the AGS fund drama begin! Will someone call it "playing favorites" if the community voted "yes" to giving them money?
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2247.0

As I've discussed with you, there is a clear need for something like this. I would rather treat it as a "loan" which will be paid back with interest and monthly contributions to the fund. Which allows the community to continuously grow and prosper.

We will be the most profitable and most influential project in the community for at least the next 6 - 9 months so supporting our endeavor will lead to the success of the entire community. Additionally, we have the resources (in regards to team, financially that's why we're here) and the strategy to pull this off and accelerate the growth of this project.
Additionally, we are currently in the makings of some crucial products for Bitshares and we will continue to do so and open-source them for the community to freely use. We're also talking with several "DAC creators" in helping them and supporting their mission with some of our resources and general help.

We are a centralized solution maker that offers "transition-products" that help users transit from centralized systems to the beautiful world of decentralized trustless systems.

To give an update to everyone: We've just recently conducted a few tests regarding Bitcoin transfers and our internal accounting system, we are now going to work on the orderbook and we hope to have a demo up and running by the 10th for a few users to test the entire platform for Bitshares, Protoshares and Bitcoin.

Please post below about any feature or anything you want added to the platform!

General Discussion / Re: On Marketing and Priorities
« on: March 03, 2014, 08:52:06 am »
What's really lacking is transparency in all of this. Brian is basically working alone in his locked room waiting for magic to happen. He doesn't really update the community and from what I've seen, he isn't really using the community and integrate them in his marketing strategy. There are so many smart people on this forum that are eager to spread the word and help with some marketing here and there.

Whenever I've talked with Dan about Brian he said "Just wait, you'll be amazed what Brian is pulling together". But I haven't seen anything magic so far and Brian nor Invictus were able to create hype around this project pre-launch. So I really do hope that Brian thought of something in the coming months.

I'm not blaming Brian, am saying that he needs to be more transparent and has to update the community and investors on a regular basis on what he intends to do. And most importantly, he needs to use the power of the community to create the a proper strategy. Me and others have offered our help and involvement in this, but Brian has been reluctant in taking our help so far.

And as you mentioned Adam, conferences are good and Brian does an excellent job there, but they are only great to reach users on a smaller scale with some networking here and there. Web presence is everything in today's time and we are doing an abysmal job there.

What country is Bithaus going to be based in?

Do you have a banking partner sorted out to receive user deposits? That seems to be the hardest part of running an exchange.

Looks great btw.

Switzerland. I am currently on the train to Zurich to sort out banking and licenses. Will have some details on Monday for you guys!

Looks great!

typo?: above the green number 3.00 you have written "bitshares balance", next to it to the right is the red number 0 and above that it also says "bitshares balance" (shouldn't that say "bitcoin balance"?)

Thanks a for mentioning this! These are just mock-ups though so nothing is really final. All of the text still needs some editing so be sure to see improvements over the coming weeks :)

Thanks for everyone else for the kind words! We are trying our best on getting this project up and running in a timely manner, although it is quite difficult, but lets see what can be done. The legal part is almost sorted and we just need to find a proper solution for China (and how to compete with btc38). If anyone wants to help/join us, please just approach me!

Cheers
