General Discussion / I just noticed there is an LTB:BitPTS asset.
« on: February 24, 2015, 05:37:15 pm »
It is not yet collateralized.  Now that it is listed how does one trade with it?

When I look through bitsharesblocks at all the available user issued assets I find it odd that there are no descriptions as to why they were created or why I might want to add them to my assets.  I am sure I missed something obvious.  Would someone please enlighten me?

I downloaded the latest version 0.5.x and everything is working fine now.  The bitusd and bitcny orders now show they have expired and the balance is now corrected. Thanks for the help.

I successfully transacted a buy for these over a week ago.  I decided to buy more but this time the transaction is marked as pending and not expiring and transferring the bts back to the main balance.  When I go to the market window of either one they are not listed as a cancelable order.  Not sure what to do now.  I attached a screen shot of these transactions, they are the two at the top, one for bitusd and the other for bitcny.   Please advise.

How many network connections do you have? And you are using the latest version 0.5.x and fully synced?

If the transaction doesn't go through, it will expire after 2 hours by default, or if you changed the expiration setting it will expire in 48 hours maximum.
I will update to the latest version then let you know if that solves the issue.  btw What is the best way to update?  Should I completely delete bitshares off my drive before downloading the latest version?
Would please post a link to the latest version 0.5.x?

This is the latest from Poloniex:
"At this point, I am confident the funds are in our possession, despite the bug causing them not to show up in the right place. I think you've waited long enough, so I've gone ahead and inserted the deposit manually for you. Hopefully we can get the issue sorted with the developers."

They went ahead and deposited the BTXS into my Poloniex wallet manually.

Thanks You,
Rich

I see that this wallet scanning issue ( https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/issues/1194 ) is still unresolved.  In the mean time is there a way to free up my 33k BTSX?

Johnny Garcia of Poloniex sent this to me this morning.
"This is the output:
2014-12-25T03:39:10 1346939 optictopic-j poloniexwallet 33,000.00000 BTS 1cd7a0c7df04c0fd 0.50000 BTS 893a6a32

So, it appears to be showing up. The trouble is, it is not showing up in wallet_account_transaction_history, which our deposit system uses to look for new transactions. I have tried wallet_recover_transaction (throws exception) and wallet_rescan_blockchain, but it refuses to be listed. Do you think you could relay this information to him, or put me in contact with him? People have not responded to my PMs in the past on that forum."

Thank you for the quick help.  I guess I'll wait another day and if the deposit goes through then great.  If not then I'll let you know.  In the mean time I'll use BTER.
Thank you!
Rich

Thanks for the responses.  I generally have no problems with Poloniex.  Before I send large transactions I always send a couple small ones to verify they end up where I need them to, so being tricked wasn't the issue.  I agree with BTER being a better choice but they do not list MAIDSAFEcoin.   I tried the typing rescan in the console but nothing changed.  bytemaster said that the transaction ID #893a6a32 is in the blockchain but I have had several people say that it is not so I assume either they are looking in different places to verify this or they are looking in the same place and getting different results either way I am still unsure what needs to be done to settle this.  So any insight into this puzzle is as always greatly appreciated.

Transaction #893a6a32 was made December 24, 2014 at 8:39:07 PM MST.  It was made from optictopic-j to Poloniex with the memo 1cd7a0c7df04c0fd.  It hasn't turned up in a block.  What are my options?  Please advise.

This is the response from Poloniex:
"I suggest you contact them and inform your withdrawal transaction id is not on the block explorer, send too the link to the block explorer and if something went wrong they should just re-send the withdrawal.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Johnny Garcia"

Yesterday I downloaded the latest client and made a couple small transactions to Poloniex before sending a large transaction.  The small ones went through within a couple of hours but the big one never made it.  It was debited from my account but the transaction number was no where to be found in the block and Poloniex says it never received the btsx.  The transaction number is: Transaction #893a6a32   Can anyone please help me this?

I am using Poloniex and it seems that they process my small deposits quickly but large deposits can take days.  Is there some kind of threshold deposits that is unstated. What is anyones experience with other exchanges?
