Hey that's awesome, nice to see some real action footage. BitShares Baby! Me like
Figured it would be nice to show that we are actually real people here. Many more photos to come for Miami.

Nxt is a great idea, but at the end of the day it just comes down to poor distribution.

General Discussion / Re: Typo(s) and grammar goblins in invictus.io
« on: January 18, 2014, 03:09:56 am »
http://invictus.io was created as a submission for the bounty, and was just supposed to just be a live shot of the repository code. I got a writer to do some quick copy out of my own pocket, so we would have something to fill the pages. Took a huge amount of time just to do the first page of http://protoshares.net/, so the copy needs to be refined more than just the typos and grammar. Don't have time to do school, the website, and the copy all at once.

Please note that the entire codebase is here:
https://github.com/super3/invictus.io

If you see obvious errors please submit a pull request with the fixes.

Took way less photos than I should, but oh well. Should I label everyone, or have everyone guess who is who?

I offered Invictus the ability to use my web team(which has built Peercoin and Primecoin), to offer a better stopgap site for Miami, but I guess they didn't want to do that. Best of luck, and I hope someone produces something awesome, preferably by Miami.

Remember you can always hack away at my design here:
https://github.com/super3/invictus.io

I've also installed a blog at blog.invictus.io, but still needs a little work.

I'm going to be taking a little break to work on Project Stratus, Armory Guide, and Coingen before the conference. I'll be back at conference time with Invictus to show off all our awesome stuff! I promise to take lots of pictures for the conference so yall won't miss a thing.

BitShares PTS / Re: protoshares.com Mining Guide suggestion
« on: January 14, 2014, 06:02:55 am »
I think ypool.net is better and faster than ptsweb.beeeeer.org
Try this method for mining:
1. Create account in http://ypool.net
2. Create worker here http://ypool.net/pts/workers or use default USERNAME.PTS_1 with password x
3. Create droplet with Ubuntu 13.10 x64
4. Run these commands:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install screen vim
Code: [Select]
wget https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jvp4wwek8jpohj7/aK1qrBEQ8R/yam-yvg1900-M7j-linux64-core2.tgz
Code: [Select]
tar xvzf yam-yvg1900-M7j-linux64-core2.tgz
Code: [Select]
cd yam-yvg1900-M7j-linux64-core2/linux64-core2
Code: [Select]
vi pts.cfg
Paste this code but change threads = 1 to your cpu core, USERNAME to ypool.net username, PTS_1 ot your worker, x to your worker password, 512 to ram memory per core (128, 256, 512, 1024):
Code: [Select]
threads = 1
mining-params = pts:av=0&m=512
mine = xpt2h://USERNAME.PTS_1:x@mining.ypool.net:10034:8080:8081:8082:8083:8084:8085:8086:8087/pts
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0
then press ESC button and write ":wq" (without the quotes) to save and close the .cfg file

Code: [Select]
screen -S pts ./yam -c pts.cfg
then press Ctrl + A + D
This will close the screen, but it will not stop the miner.
If you want to see the miner use command:
Code: [Select]
screen -r ptsYou can check your connected miners here http://ypool.net/pts/workers_live
Add a tutorial for it.

Thanks for pointing that out. Can you make an issue on the repo?
https://github.com/super3/protoshares.net/issues?state=open

Or if you would like to put in a pull request to fix it directly, I will accept it right away.

Just registered in GitHub and first time using it but I think I did it right (the pull request)  :D

I had heard many times about it before but never actually got to try it, cool tool  :)
Accepted. Should auto update in a few. Congrats you are one of the protoshares.com authors!

I think this bounty needs to be tripled. It's very important and it's stalling.
Or just wait till the spending power of 163 PTS is much more. Which could be a few weeks as far as Bitcoin is concerned.

Or perhaps we should have a method so that users can simply add their donations to a bounty if the perceive it to be particularly important.

There is a way for interested users to add to the bounty. I did.

See OP:
"If you'd like to add to this bounty, please post your commitment here or send funds to PjXEcwv1MihZXDiKntVxpWCJEgJrczKgEs - I will hold them in escrow until the bounty is filed."
Missed that in OP. Perhaps we should have a donation address for every bounty.

Aren't we the investors? I know I've sunk a good portion of my bitcoins into this project. Not that I was qualified or interested in being a part of that decision, just trying to figure out what you mean by investors.
I believe this refers to the investors that initially invested in Invictus, the company. This happened before Protoshares even existed.

General Discussion / Re: The BitShares Brand
« on: January 10, 2014, 02:14:49 pm »
Bitshares is a distributed-prediction-market-based polymorphic digital asset exchange, but are you honestly going to say that on an elevator to someone? We need to shorten that to something understandable. Bitcoin - Digital Currency. Bitshares -  Assets Exchange?

Nope, BitShares is not an asset exchange anymore. You're thinking of BitShares BEX. BitShares is a loose collection of I3 DACs which all have the common theme that they relate to equity. What you're suggesting would be natural and easy to market, but we have a new Branding StrategyTM

You can own a bitcoin. You can't own a bitshare (anymore). You can own a unit of a thing which has the brand BitShares prepended to it though.
Ah ok. Makes sense. Really love this concept now.

Was reading through, and this caught my eye:
"0.25X ether will be given to the founders."

So pre-mined? Yeah, Ethereum is going to have a bad time...

I have started working on my implementation. Will report back soonTM.
Sounds like 2 weeksTM.

whats your message behind ? Guess it isn't conducive!
You haven't heard the Butterfly Labs joke?
