General Discussion / Re: Pitchfork Countdown May Begin Next Week
« on: September 05, 2015, 10:25:41 pm »
I saw a lot of problems still have not repaired, we should not rush to publish
and they are?
https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene/issues  You can see it here.

there are only 3 bugs, 2 of them being labeled high-priority. I wouldn't say "a lot of problems" but  is not my call anyways.

There has never been a period of history where people were think they are more free than they are now, and that trend will probably continue into the future.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

In hindsight, bitshares should have done the same with their first release.

So this *GENERAL WARNING* is placed here as a caution to all:

BitShares is an industry under development.
You have a chance to participate in that development.

Its products are highly experimental, immature, and full of bugs.
They have been made available so early adopters can help test them.
They are likely to break on you at the worst possible time.
You should not trust them.
You should double check everything they do.
You should experiment with very small amounts before doing anything big.
You should not do anything big.
You should realize that what worked yesterday should be double-checked today.

We could wait until it is perfect before letting you participate.
But by then the rewards you might get would be reduced by as much as the risks.

That's why the disclaimer you accepted before you could first launch the software warned that the software comes with no guarantees to be good for anything at all.

Yeah @Stan why didn't you warn us?!  :P

Uhmm, is this the part, when someone posts "apply ice to the burnt area" meme? :p

General Discussion / Re: Test Net for Advanced Users
« on: August 29, 2015, 10:25:32 pm »
The test network has been delayed because we have a random crash in block production that we just now identified the cause of.

It took me 1M blocks to reproduce the issue on my local test net!

Somewhat disappointed but it's understandable. Can you tell ETA?

what is the nature of your disappointment, I dont understand?

General Discussion / Re: Decoupling bitAssets from BTS through POW
« on: August 28, 2015, 01:47:47 pm »
In order for an asset to be backed, the collateral backing the asset must be retrievable.  A token cannot be backed by POW as collateral because the electricity cannot be retrieved, its network can only be secured by POW as a recurring cost.

Yet a token can be backed by BTS, even though the bitcoin / fiat used to buy it cannot be retrieved directly either?

Token is backed by BTS, you can directly retrieve BTS.

General Discussion / Re: Randomness of Witness Scheduling
« on: August 28, 2015, 01:43:18 pm »
They could always skip them.  By randomizing that behavior will be more easily detected because the bad witness will follow a different witness every time.

That's too low level an explanation - what is the problem you aim to solve by randomising the order? :)

Agree, Cant get my head around the issue. BM can you explain like im 5? ( or 15 at least :) )

Meta / Re: I am getting censored on the marketplace
« on: August 26, 2015, 04:45:05 pm »
I find this thread absurd.

I find the argument "cannabis is illegal somewhere" absurd because bitshares is also illegal somewhere in the world so should we shut the forum down?

And I also find the freedom argument absurd because, c'mon this is bitshares forum. :) As bytemaster states it, "all value is perceived value". So people's perception about bitshares counts. If people will stay away from a crypto platform because somebody tries to sell cannabis on its forums, I am all for not allowing it. Simply this is not the place.

I really appreciate the explanations. I now have a better understanding of Bitshares.

BitShares is centralized way from Dan and Stan to steal money.

P.S. I'am not a troll. That is exactly my experience.

Can you explain?

No, he can't. At least he is not corroborating his arguments with facts or evidence; also see his posts in the other threads.

I seriously started to think that well known trolls of this forum are pr attackers, paid (or at least encouraged) by competitors.

General Discussion / Re: Please stop changing the rules of the game
« on: August 21, 2015, 09:29:53 pm »

Yes, progress is good.  Yes, change is tough.  But completely changing the monetary incentive to use a system to a new one that does not favor new investment is a scary proposition.

what changed? 20% goes to BTS if you are referring to the identabit sharedrop

The 20% is a lie.  Its only 10%, of final supply.  They are doing 20% of initial distribution but only 10% in reality, to make it look better.

Any comment on this Stan?
