Call me asshole but Im bullish!

You are making the Trolls agry! stop that! You are not allowed to say such words! LOL

Oh the irony. The only troll I see in this thread is you @chryspano . If you have to counter every critical position with "look them trolls" you are probably way too invested.

Bitsharestalk has been extremely interesting to follow since the beginning but I fear that this time is officially over now. And steem has yet to prove that it can provide the same experience.

General Discussion / Re: Move Bitsharestalk to Steemit?

I honestly can't take STEEM seriously as a long term project. And I don't understand why the economics behind it would appeal to anyone.
So no, I don't think we should move everything over to STEEM.

Looking great!  +5% Nice explainer video.

I wish everyone involved all the best of luck, hope it becomes a success. It will probably be better than Play   :)

Oh wait... I forgot to panic. Bunker, xeroc and co are leaving BTS, abandon ship while you still can!!! Should probably take the steemboat to the shore.  :P

Just to be sure: It is enough to know the private keys that were used for mining to later access the funds?

Edit: Thinking about it more the SIDEBTC shouldn't require a key held by the depositor or SIDEBTC loses fungibility. Since SIDEBTC can only exist on the BitShares chain there is no reason to have anyone but the witnesses (aka the Graphene engine) able to spend it 1:1 for real BTC.
Correct. This is the point.

I just wonder how it would be possible to maintain a witness multisig address with witnesses getting voted in and out.

General Discussion / Re: Appearance of Deflation vs No Dilution

people would most likely think we diluted even if we didn't.

Exactly.

Sometimes I feel like the community is looking for problems where really non exist. Let's focus on real problems like liquidity and I believe we'll be fine.

I think bitshares operating as a for profit business is a turn off to other business as it adds to baseline cost.
Instead I think bitshares should operate as a non-profit neutral platform for business to make their own profit.
Collect what is necessary to pay operating cost and that is it. IMO.

Why would anyone want to develop and maintain BTS as a non-profit platform?
The one thing that BitShares is really good at is a strong incentive structure for maintaining and expanding the chain. I absolutely don't get why we would want to kill that off.

Don't you love those bitAsset being backed by not assets but by participation certificates in a charity?

Now that you mention it, that does sound like a great idea. Just think of all the media hype we would get!

General Discussion / Re: What if we let the registrars set the LTM price?
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:51:42 pm »
As I stated before, we already have this problem.
I could "ruin" the OpenLedger business by offering 75% discount on LTM for all OpenLedger customers.

So let's face this problem and embrace the good side of it.
That is actually not a "problem" but the reason to start a competition.

The biggest problem that I have with this proposal, is that you are proposing to give a way one of the biggest sources of revenue of the network it self. It's not just the referral program that makes money out of it, but also the network itself. How would you compensate for that?

 +5%

Just because we don't have a lot of competition right now doesn't mean it will be like that forever.
I expect the fees taken by registrars to get very low longterm. Whithout a minimum fee for the network that would make the whole LTM thing pretty much obsolete.

Do you plan to vote for the proposed BSIP worker (1.14.29) ?
I'd appreciate your support for it.

This would be nice to announce. That's the same as stealing 1% of all the coins! We announce it and advise for OpenLedger.

@Ander now that I checked, didn't they already have that? I remember when you deposited you would get + 1% and when you withdrew they would take it away from you again? Could someone explain it to me? I really dont know the difference between now and before, I'm confused. I think this is not new??
As far as I remember 1% only used to be for BTS on BTER. If you deposited BTS with them before they would give you 1% on top and when withdrawing they would charge you 1%. I stop trading on BTER long time ago so this info is quite old  :).

Really? I thought it was on all coins.

@Tuck Fheman could you confirm this please? Btw nice effort there, I only used Bter a long ago before those hacks.

I'm pretty sure that the 1% thing was only for BTS for some reason.

General Discussion / Re: Brownie price: Panic or not?
« on: December 11, 2015, 11:18:19 am »
It calmed down. Now also the obits don't sink so much anymore. The obits I have to hold, they were too expensive and I believe in it longterm.

Can someone explain to me why OBITS is falling already? Most people must be selling at a loss, right?
