General Discussion / Re: poll for the "1 BTS for transfer" proposal
« on: January 28, 2016, 08:42:23 pm »
I just read like 20 times in this thread that the referral program is not effectif ...

The referral program is not about giving us 100.000 new users in 3 month ! Come on !
It's about incentive people to find ways to promote BitShares. So they can have cool revenues in the furture if they do it well.
As far I can observe, it's working pretty well after only 90 days !

Are you incentivized after 90 days?

How many accounts have you signed up?

How many of those accounts have made more than one transfer?

Can you support your marketing efforts with the funds you've earned from referrals, if any?

Is it worth your time?

I simply don't see it "working" as envisioned.

I'm very thankful for my free LTM, because I would not pay the fee for a LTM and I just don't see that many others willing to either.

But that's just been my experience, yours may vary.

and 95% of them are not even once used. it looks to me on openledger-reg i will find similar results. so most people are looking and not using. if this are the normal
numbers we really can lower our transaction fees, because the referral program is not working like intented.

Yep. They sign up, possibly get some free token from OL, make 1 transfer and that's it, they're done.

Why is that?

What does DOGE have that is driving it higher than Nxt?

A big strong positive and unified community.

And that's all it takes to make a generic bitcoin clone worth more than our entire splintered negative and frustrated community who complains weather the price of BTS rises or falls.

and generous too.

can we donate to a fund to give to DOGE/BTC/ETH holders yet or are we going to continue with the greed meme that has left us wondering why nobody loves us?

Seeing as how we spent 1 of the last 2 years sharedropping and merging shares to thousands of people across multiple crypto communities (PTS/AGS/DNS/VOTE/etc) with perfectly calibrated vesting schedules, I assume that we are getting pretty good at it.

Lets take up a collection and donate to the DOGE communiy

all in favor?!!!!

(crickets?)

[lulz]

This "Community" won't even accept most tokens from it's own chain!

This "Community" disparages anyone giving them most any token created from it's own chain!

It's just too much load on their precious (waiting for the next pumpt to cash out) wallets to receive free tokens of appreciation or tokens for teh lulz (oh teh horror).

This "Community" rarely donates to support anyone or anything that is beneficial to BitShares as a whole.

They will support efforts they perceive will be beneficial to their own personal financial gain in some way (i.e. helps them cash out at a higher price ... sooner).

And you're asking this "Community" to give tokens to another (real ... giving) Community in hopes it will bring them ... here?!??

You may have raised yourself from the dead, but good luck raising this "Community" from the dead.

General Discussion / Re: why bts lack users????????
« on: January 22, 2016, 11:09:15 am »
why??????

Because people want blockchain technology forced onto them by their government overlords, not handed to them by society.

Choices are really hard for most, especially correct choices.

For most, it's easier to accept a mandated bad choice and go with the herd to avoid being different than to do some research on their own and make their own decision.

It's even harder for most to act once that step is complete.

You special snowflakes here and in other crypto-communities are a rare breed ... "The Exceptions" (not coming soon to a theater near you), and the herd is getting thinner every day.

Once "Bankcoin's" (or whatever name they are given) are forced onto the masses, and they will be, I assume we will all become financial "terrorist", by law (it's not a stretch).

So, why does BTS lack users?

For the same reason Bitcoin (and all the other non-government issued crypto's) lacks users (see above).

General Discussion / Re: Crowd Donations for Mike Hearn Hangout
« on: January 16, 2016, 11:47:48 am »
I watched his presentation in London around 2013 sometimes when he was just in transition from Google to Circle. He was than promoting blacklisting of coins which did not receive very good reaction from some of the audience. I think if we invite him we are just giving another reason to Bitcoin community to dislike us.

 +5%

Also it may give him a free paid shot to criticize another competitor to "Bankcoin".

I applaud the initiative here, but I think the speaker "disgruntled competitor" should be left to speak at the next Fed meeting instead.

I'd rather pay Jim Willie (or someone like him) to come back on, but he's actually cool enough to come on for free.

If you do get Mike Hearn into a Mumble session, I sure hope you're ready to be muting others ... a lot. ;)

... sent with love. :)
