BitShares PTS / Re: [HOW-TO] Fund/register accounts
« on: January 05, 2015, 03:35:31 am »
When you launch your PTS client you will be asked to enter an account name. This account will remain 'unregistered' until you fund the account and then optionally register the account. Once you register the account name, you can use the account name to receive funds. Until then, if you want to send money to an 'unregistered' account, you need to do the following:

1) Click 'My Accounts' in the left menu bar
2) Click the name of an existing account on this page (or click "Create New Account" to create a new one)
3) On the next page, under your account name, you will see an 'Account Key' which is a long hash address starting with the letters 'PTS...'. This is your account's public key. You can fund your account by sending PTS to this account key.

Post your questions here.

So I just downloaded the new PTS Client. It requires me to register on the Blockchain before I can receive my PTS on my new client.
My new PTS Username is: reiddouthat

Can someone help me figure out how to get funds so I can register on the blockchain and withdrawal my PTS from BTER? I see you say: "I can withdrawal with my 'key' to my account" but that isnt working on BTER... It says: cancelled:PTS account is not registered or memo is too long

I ran into the same problem with my BTS [a long time ago]... and someone from Reddit helped me out, and I sent them their funds back once I could get mine in my wallet. Ill do the same, I promise you.

Or if there is some kind of faucet for getting PTS users registered... Could someone please let me know? Thanks!

Hey; thank you so much for this information. I hope it will also help some other users that have macs and are downloading the wrong wallet.
You really were such a help not only with the Mac Wallet but also that other info regarding ProtoShares.
Kind Regards,
CRD

WOW!
Thanks so much for leading me to that Wallet Download! It opened AND worked the first try and is syncing with the network!
I mean I've spoke with 'Bitshares Support', 'Invictus Support'; not to mention searching all over the internet for help about this matter; yet this is the first anyone has recommended or sent a link to that "BitShares-PTS v1.0.0" wallet. I can't believe & don't understand why they have that wallet that crashes on every mac I've used, on their official website...

Could you tell me if you know: What is the difference in that wallet and the one on their official website? Also what is the other wallet (Not the "BitShares-PTS v1.0.0" which works great) on that site below the BitShares Download that is named "Protoshares-Qt vp0.4.0". I obviously know that Bitshares used to be named 'Protoshares' which is why their abbreviation in exchanges is (PTS)... Only I have just began learning about and purchasing the Bitshares recently after they had the name change.
If anyone can clarify this for me it would be most welcome!

Technical Support / Mac Wallet Crashes

So I have two Macs... An iMac and MacBook Air. The Keyhotee App works fine on the iMac but not the MacBook Air. The Bitshares-PTS App (The build from last night 4-14 & this afternoon 4-15) doesnt work on either Mac. It crashes before even doing 'any loading' on both Macs... Not even creating a /library/ApplicationSupport/Bitshares-PTS/ Folder. Does anyone else have these issues? Is there any advice anyone can give so I can get this wallet working so I can transfer my coin from Cryptsy?

It's been out already, I really wish they would keep their site updated

Which .dmg file are you referring to that is more recent?

We are actively working on new mac .dmg files for Keyhotee and PTS
