General Discussion / Re: Suggestion about Max Supply of UIA
« on: February 05, 2017, 03:58:22 am »
I have a list of additional permissions that should be added to UIAs .. wanted to write a new BSIP but haven't had the time.
So what I would like to do is this: Add additional permissions to assets that
* allow you to opt-out of changing max supply

Sounds very good.

General Discussion / Suggestion about Max Supply of UIA
« on: January 31, 2017, 04:05:09 pm »
I would like to suggest a change to the current UIA creation system.
That is, "max supply should be locked on blockchain level upon creation of UIA".
I feel that the current system where the UIA issuer can easily change the max supply of UIA can interfere with the buying pressure of UIA, because potential buyers can be afraid of inflation and end up not buying the UIA even if they want it so badly.

What do you guys think?

If Alice, Bob, Charlie, and Dennis has 33% weight each, that is a 132% pie. That is what I don't understand. Why is the total 132% instead of 100%?

Technical Support / About Recurring Payments
« on: January 16, 2017, 04:49:30 pm »
I found the Recurring & Scheduled Payments (https://bitshares.org/technology/recurring-and-scheduled-payments/) page on BitShares.org. Is this already functional on Openledger? If so, which screen can I go to get started?

Thanks for your reply.

I've checked the help menu for "permissions" on Openledger, but it seems to only explain the overall concept but not the actual steps for setting up the multisig account. In fact, the example they used on the explanation seemed to exceed the total of 100% pie, so it simply confused me very much.

Do you know if there is a "proper" documentation on how to set up a multisig account/wallet?

Hi guys,
Is configuring multisig account/wallet coming out anytime soon on the BitShares GUI (frontend)?

Technical Support / Question about withdrawal using Openledger gateway
« on: August 16, 2016, 05:07:10 pm »
I'm a bit confused about the gateway structure of Openledger. Can you advise me with my question below?

I see the message, "For support, please contact Blocktrades at: opensupport@blocktrades.us" on the Openledger gateway withdrawal page. However, my understanding is that Openledger gateway and Blocktrades gateway are two completely different gateways. Can you advise why Openledger-gateway-related inquiries should be directed to Blocktrades and not to CCEDK?

I am already aware that the asset display can be inverted on the exchange page and one can view the "My Open Orders Window" in inverted format from the exchange page.

My question was if this can be done from Account --> Open Orders page or not.

24
Hi all,
I understand that transaction asset and settlement asset can be inverted on Openledger by clicking on the asset pair display on the Exchange page. Can this be done on "Account --> Open Orders" page as well? I can't seem to find the way to invert the assets on this page.

If this function does not exist, I believe it would be a great function to add on the future version of Openledger. Please consider adding it.

As of August 12, 2016, we have "5683" paid votes. We're actually on the top of the list now. Thank you!

Let's make this happen! Let's make BTS a "major" coin! We can do it.

Go Go BTS!

Okay, I think we're getting closer and closer. Woo hoo!

As of July 27, 2016, we have "5386" Paid votes! We're in second place now! Thank you!

I'm actually making a difference now :-)

Go Go BTS!

Bump.

I believe adding BTS payment to GoUrl.io is important to increase exposure of BitShares, so I'm gonna be advertising this on my website, asking my visitors to support the addition of BTS. I hope the bitsharestalk community also sees the importance in this as well. Yes, bitUSD is important too, but i believe the first thing we need to do is to be recognized as a platform.

GoUrl.io is starting to becoming a huge solution for ecommerce sites. Just look at their wordpress plugin page and see it for yourself. Their plugin has been actively developed and used.

So, now it's up to us to make use of this great opportunity or not. We're at fourth place now, I think we have a good chance to get added.

General Discussion / Re: Comparison of BitShares VS Dash Transaction
« on: June 27, 2016, 01:26:38 am »
Let me go back to the original question.

If BitShares had that exact function during BitShares 1.0, but had to kill the function due to scalability issues, why is Dash able to keep the same function without experiencing scalability issues? What makes them different from BitShares? Are they just not seeing the scalability issue ahead, or did they overcome it somehow?

Dear Xeroc,
Thank you for your reply.

Our devs decided to not run for it until we have figured out a SAFE way to ensure no one can lose funds.
Not sure how DASH devs deal with their people's money, but we learned our lesses from TITAN the hard way.

Well, but if a BitShares programmer who can analyze and understand codes look into how other crypto devs are dealing with the same thing, I thought BitShares can come up with a even better and a safer way. At least, that's how I look at things. BitShares DAC is awesome, so why stop here?

Dear pc,
Thank you for your reply.

Another important reason why BitShares-2 doesn't do that anymore is that it provided a false sense of security. It was possible to correlate addresses belonging to a single account, by analysing transaction metadata.

Are you saying sending payment to a single username in Dash has no privacy, can all be tracked easily? If so, Dash is spreading misleading information to the public.

I was watching this YouTube video below from Dash Detailed, and the host, Amanda, said that in Dash, a person can send payment to usernames, but each new payment will land in a separate address, maintaining the user's privacy. (see 01:41 - 02:00)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAyoXtx3wxQ

If Dash can do this easily on protocol level, why can't BitShares replicate it so easily? I see that Stealth function is being built for some time now, but it's not out yet. How come we are struggling at this point, when BitShares came up with the "working DAC" (not DAO!) quicker than anybody else?

Can't we simply study from Dash's protocol, replicate their ideas onto Stealth? I'm not a programmer, but still, I am not sure why BitShares is struggling to launch Stealth in a timely manner.
