Technical Support / How to fund fee pool of my UIA
« on: November 22, 2015, 04:12:18 am »
Can anybody urgently teach me how to fund the fee pool of my UIA from the frontend?

I only have about 100 BTS in the fee pool left, and need to fund it asap.

However, I can't seem to find the button or anything that allows me to do that.

Technical Support / Re: About reducing supply of UIAs

Does anybody know?

I'm not sure if this fix introduced another problem, but please see the membership tab for any newly created accounts by openledger-reg.

I'm seeing crazy values in the fee allocation table, like -2950% for registrar and 3000% for affiliate referrer. What is going on?

Technical Support / About reducing supply of UIAs
« on: November 18, 2015, 05:08:17 pm »
How can I reduce the supply of UIAs that were already created? (The owner of the UIA has the supply and wants to reduce the issued supply)

I can't seem to find the way to reduce the current supply from the update asset menu.

Can you kindly advise?

I see. Thank you for your input, guys. I now see the weak point in the regular proof-of-burn approach.

I'll just keep coming up with more ideas. All we have to do is to increase the absolute supply of BitAssets in a fair way.

I have two more ideas at this time. How does this sound?

A. We can do a one-time crowdsale to allow people to "buy" BitAssets directly from the blockchain using their BTS. The collected BTS can then be used to support the network or get locked up for good.

B. Copy bitcoin's approach and simply use proof-of-work to allow users to "mine" BitAssets until we feel that supply of BitAsset has increased to a sufficient level.

I totally agree with Akado.  +5%

I think bytemaster needs to explain "how" he intended to motivate exchanges to share order books. Through shared IOUs or by asking multiple exchanges to focus on a particular BitAsset?

From what I see, that dream is not going to become a reality if we keep taking the current route. We'll just end up having a bunch of illiquid IOUs.

It has to be reversible.

I'm not technical so I can only come up with ideas, but can't the blockchain hold onto the private key of the BTC address where nobody else can see, and use it to unlock it whenever the trader tries to redeem his/her real BTC?

I was imagining  a cloakroom type of mechanism, where you hand over the receipt when you go home, and you get your coat back on the way out.

freebie has been playing with this concept for a while for its approach to decentralization of *coin transactions, the technology for this solution does not YET exist, but is theoretically possibly.

this is one of the issues we will be tacking going forward, and would love any suggestions :)

Okay, now I understand that locking away BTC using the blockchain is theoretically possible, but not practically possible at this moment.

Either way, the current "flooding" of BTC IOU is not an ideal situation.
So, I've given it a thought and came up with another idea.
Let me know what you think.

How about we use proof-of-burn to burn real BTC to allow the blockchain to issue a counterparty-risk-free BLOCKCHAIN.BTC, which is a pseudo-BTC that uses the BitShares Blockchain?

Technical Support / Re: How to check referral stats

I guess it's not possible to check from the frontend at this time.

Thank you for the information.

Okay, thank you svk.
When the fix is in place, I will test again to ensure that the bug is gone.

General Discussion / Re: About Renaming UIAs
« on: November 13, 2015, 04:17:28 am »
Looks like you can't rename it. Once you create it, you can't change symbol nor precision.

I ended up creating a new asset. Wasted some BTS, but I guess I can keep it as a test UIA.

Okay, thank you for letting me know. I will wait until the claim asset fee operation can be performed from front end.

Technical Support / Bid/Ask is the same price, but no fill occurs
« on: November 13, 2015, 03:39:12 am »
Please see this screenshot. I sent a buy 3305 lot order @ price 0.1180, but somehow a weird symptom occurred.

2305 lot got filled at price 0.1140, so the remainder of 1000 lot should have got filled at price 0.1180, but it's not getting filled. Instead, it's stuck in the bid in the orderbook as the same price as the ask without any fills. Moreover, the remainder should be 1000 lots, but it is showing as 1,078.1355 lots. I am not sure what is going on, so I am reporting here.

Kindly advise.

Technical Support / About accumulated fees
« on: November 12, 2015, 03:12:49 pm »
I checked my UIA's status in cryptofresh.com and saw a section called accumulated fees.

My understanding is that market fees add up and get accumulated here. My question is how/when can the issuer of UIA redeem this accumulated fees? Is there a documentation for accumulated fees?
