Technical Support / How to finf a delegate
« on: January 26, 2015, 05:48:36 am »
I found a delegate that I think might benefit Bitshares and me. However, when trying to vote, i see 53 pages of standby delegates and no search... so how do I find the correct one?

Technical Support / How many delegates can I vote for?
« on: January 25, 2015, 11:13:43 am »
I have come across a few delegates that I like, and they want to help build bitshares.
Can I vote for up to 101 delegates, or do I vote for only 1?

Technical Support / Blockchain trade
« on: December 03, 2014, 09:32:17 am »
How does the trade over blockchain work? I have bought bitusd over the built in exchange, so I see it's working. I don't know how though, so can someone (send me a link to) explain how it works?

Technical Support / New assets p2p
« on: December 03, 2014, 09:30:13 am »
How does the asset creation work? I can create assets on the exchange, and if it's got a long name, its quite cheap? And its being processed over the blockchain? So it's a p2p asset exchange, where there's no censorship as long as you pay the fees to the network?

Technical Support / Bitshares pts
« on: December 03, 2014, 08:21:17 am »
I saw a thread about bitshares pts. I have some bitshares. Do I have to do anything, or do I just wait around? I am busy with other things.
I'm on version 0.24 of the software I think.

Can I connect to some bitshares api? When I run bitshares, does it open some port I can send RPC to?

Technical Support / What are pay rates?
« on: November 21, 2014, 11:57:35 am »
Total newbie question:

Delegates have pay rates. What does this mean?

Does it means they destroy new funds, they keep them or something else?

What if pay rate is 50%?

How can these rates be verified by me? Some website or similar?

Technical Support / Negative interest rate
« on: November 12, 2014, 08:56:32 am »
I read somewhere that shares that are not moved for a long time will be destroyed at a rate of 5% pa.
While I think this is stupid and short sighted, I guess this is how the protocol was written. Correct me where I'm wrong.

1 How are the funds extracted from private address? I guess the protocol says that the privkey can only sign up to 95% of the value? So no funds are taken out, but its math in the protocol?

2 How often does a bot have to move the funds to dodge this idea-bug? Once per year?

3 If an address contains a low value, what is the risks that these funds do not get spent and that they will be eroded over time?

General Discussion / Mobile versions

I'm quite new here, so this might have been answered before, but are there any projects working on a mobile implementation of bitshares?

Technical Support / Interest rate
« on: November 12, 2014, 12:53:29 am »
So I recently bought a few bitusd. I got them at about 47 bitshares. How is the interest rate paid? Do I have to hold for a year?
