Technical Support / Re: BitUSD stuck in limbo
« on: September 04, 2014, 10:21:19 pm »
Updated to 0.4.12.

I type wallet_regenerate_keys methodx 1000

I get this:

Code: [Select]
>> wallet_regenerate_keys methodx 1000

984

In the green bar on the bottom left I immediately see this:

Code: [Select]
Transaction scanning progress is -100%
I know it's only $100 and not really a big deal but my wallet seems to really be behaving oddly. I'm not confident in trading while it's behaving this way.

Other oddities:

  • RPC Server Error: In method 'wallet_account_vote_summary': unknown account (20006)
  • When I click on the "vote" tab, nothing is there, even when I vote for delegates.
  • I placed a sell order for BTC yesterday and it disappeared from Open Orders.
  • My BitBTC balance displays as "1e-8.00 BTC" (should be zero)

These issues are probably being carried over from earlier versions. Otherwise, the exchange is looking very nice. We're getting close to a 1.0 release.

My main takeaway from all of this has been that this experiment is like learning to ride a bike. At first you don’t have the confidence to give yourself  momentum. Instead, you learn with training wheels. Once you have confidence to give yourself momentum, the training wheels can be removed and you’ll never forget how to ride a bike.

Make sure you have transaction_scanning turned on if you're still getting the -100% thing.

How do I do that?

I'm not familiar with the BTSX console. Documentation is sparse.

EDIT: Nevermind figured it out.

Code: [Select]
help wallet_set_transaction_scanning

I might re-enter at these levels, I expect it to go down.
Awesome charts. Which site?

http://www.sosobtc.com/kline/btsx/btc38.html

Anyone know if this code is open source? I'll host an english version if it is.

I prefer cryptrader any day: https://cryptrader.com/charts/bter/btsx/btc
They use Tradingview's API, and thus have many different indicators for technical analysis.

soso is only better because of the volume... someone should port soso over to english.. i do the javascript trick to get prices in bitcoin but would be better if it were english.

Is the code open source?

Try using 0.4.11 RC2

 https://github.com/dacsunlimited/bitsharesx/releases/tag/0.4.11-RC2

You liked it? Did it/you solve the problem with the balance?

It's improved the experience considerably but my balance issue hasn't been resolved. :-\

General Discussion / Re: Demand for BitUSD: What are the low hanging fruit?
« on: September 04, 2014, 09:11:46 am »
bitGOLD is backed by BTSX. In all practical purposes it is identical to bitUSD (except the name and the feeds). If bitUSD has low liquidity why do you think bitGOLD would ?

Great point.

Unrelated side question: can the "market cap" of bitUSD be tracked? Perhaps bitUSD should be listed on coinmarketcap.com and presented as its own "alt coin". We should take the focus off the bitshares exchange and focus on marketing the product. I'm absolutely convinced once the crypto community understands bitUSD, they'll be all over it.

All bitUSD are backed by BTSX , so there is no separate market cap. It is included. Market cap of bitUSD is visible from the client (or bitsharesblocks.com).

So the "market cap" is 483,250 bitUSD.

Agree!

I think CNY will be next though. All delegates have it in their price feeds.

bitBTC is dead. Looks like crypto trading inside the platform (for the time being) won't be a hit. I suspect non-crypto asset trading will be our golden goose, now and in the foreseeable future.

Darknet markets
Remittances

How about gambling?

@Riverhead

Thanks for the help!

Do I input this into the console exactly:

Code: [Select]
wallet_recover_accounts methodx
What do I input for number of attempts?
