oh, who said this?

I believe bitcrab is toxic to the success of bitshares

"I believe" can usually be considered an opinion.

An attack would be "bitcrab, you're an asshole and you're toxic to the success of bitshares"
Learn the difference between opinions and attacks please.

shame on you, all I saw is you and many other people attack bitcrab
and you have to lier continue, here is some copy from the telegraph

What I am doing is *not* attacking, I'm opposing his plan. That is a *BIG* difference. At no time I ever used bad words or personal attacks, I am merly stating my opinion regarding his plans.

This. bitcrab is using exchange funds to get people with his 'agenda' voted into the committee and is now staging to do a hostile takeover.  Not to mention that the committee was mislead by him once already, I really hope that users wake up and remove bad actors like him for the stability of the network. This is not good.

I think you're abusing your power here in this case.

The users of your exchange have not authorized you to vote with THEIR stake.

Those quotes are not attacks, they're opinions and I'm entitled not not like what he's doing.

And yeah, I fucked up. But at least I'm not trying to to start a flamewar here. You can continue to use that episode in October to further discredit me but in reality we're moving towards a fork, and you're doing your part of it by getting people to remove votes for people who oppose you. Good luck with BitsharesCN!

@mindphlux , and how do you explain this?

Nothing to explain here, I fucked up. Remove your votes if you must. I will gladly resign from all positions if I need to have as I don't wan't to take part in something that results in a major civil war that leads to a fork.

Unless he compensated those who bought worthless BTS1 from him.
@mindphlux , did you profit from selling worthless BTS1 and if so, did you return the money?

It was a matter of bad judgement on my part, possibly guided by greed at the time. I dearly regret this as I didn't think this through. However, I wasn't able to get any BTC out of it as the deposit/withdrawal options were quickly disabled after this trade took place.

Having said that, I find it worrying that some people try to use this screencap against me, trying to discredit me because I voice my opinion very loudly against bitcrab's plans to give them an advantage in voting numbers.

This is no longer a neutral fee discussion, this is a flame campaign where the camps are trying to discredit the other camp, I think BitShares is close to civil war here in this case - Bitcrab has bought half of the committee with the votes of an exchange and doing all he can to destroy the referral program and thus destroying BitShares, even if he's not aware of it. At 1-5 BTS levels, shareholders that disagree with this change have no reason to stay with BitShares, they might as well fork the entire project and continue without the 'chinese dictatorship' - see my point here? Civil war is near.

I don't expect anyone to forgive me what I attempted, but I think I've shown clearly my dedication to BitShares in the past, as a witness and committee member, e.g the first worker proposal ever or the first community driven committee proposal too. I will continue to serve BitShares as much as I can, trying to defend it from people who want to cause harm.

I would support this, in fact there has been some discussion going on regarding this in the committee channel. I hope we can come up with a good solution soon enough.

If you haven't voted before, vote for the committee members that oppose a fee change to 1BTS or similiar.

If you succeed, that would be the second time you pushed your agenda through a back door.  That is terrible behavior.  You need to be stopped and removed from the committee.

This. bitcrab is using exchange funds to get people with his 'agenda' voted into the committee and is now staging to do a hostile takeover.  Not to mention that the committee was mislead by him once already, I really hope that users wake up and remove bad actors like him for the stability of the network. I would love to support this.

Would have to decide on asset names though.

Is it AAPL, NASDAQ.AAPL, STOCKS.AAPL?
Same with GOOG. We would have to decide on one common naming scheme. I would prefer AAPL and GOOG in this example.

4 char cost 260k BTS, but this could be changed by the committee temporal while it creates the assets.

Trust me, tonyk - I learned my thing what it means to believe someone to what he/she is saying regarding bitshares. I always presumed that committee members are trusted community members and have no desire to manipulate - I've proven wrong, and the committee guidelines attempt to fix that so it cannot happen again.

I've just seen this thread with this debate in progress, so I'd figure I should write down my side regarding this fiasco

1) We, the committee members at the time, were approached by transwiser (led by bitcrab) that the new settle button in the frontend is causing transwiser to loose money, people are actively exploiting it and have already suffered losses
2) The suggestion from bitcrab at the time was to disable the feature permanently
3) After further discussion, a compromise was reached - turn if off for one week, and allow the witnesses to adjust the price feeds for the CNY market, there was really a 2% gap there.

So far so good.

Before casting my vote, I specifically asked if transwiser is indeed ALREADY loosing money on this issue, and I was told that this was the case. This was the sole reason why I was voting for this proposal in the first place.

After the vote has passed, I asked bitcrab again in the committee channel if money was indeed lost or not - answer was that transwiser lost no money, and the action was needed to protect CNY shorters from the 'evil' settlers

Later on, this was blamed on miscommunication between chinese language and english language, but personally I felt misled and also feel like I was fed wrong information and this whole episode feels cheated, one could also call it power abuse. The fact alone that bitcrab is acting as committee member and submitted a proposal that deals with his company has a bad aftertaste.

As a result, I came up with the idea to create a common set of committee guidelines how a proposal is submitted, to make sure such misleading cannot happen again.

General Discussion / Presenting Commmitee Guidelines
« on: December 09, 2015, 06:29:41 am »
Dear Community,

before creating any more committee proposals, the committee decided it needed to agree on a common set of rules how to do business in the future. It took a few weeks to get a draft document created and several revisions to get every current committee member to agree - major thanks go to cube for helping with this document.
