General Discussion / What happened to bitshares.org?
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:15:23 am »
Just as all you know, our new official website is alive for quite a few days. That's good.

But,
1. It is really really slowly loaded, to be specific it takes about as long as one minute to open. Considering the few available contents of the website atm, also by comparison to the good accessability of other bitcoin2.0 projects websites, i.e. NXT, ripple, XCP, I feel very upset;

2. What's even worse, right now, I can't open org at all.

I feel it's necessary to feedback this, because outsiders's impression be made by official site will impact their judgement of the project itself. I‘m sorry if this annoys ppl working on the website, I don't mean to criticize anyone.

I see the other day when a pump of 10% from 5000sats to 5500sats give confidense to bytemaster. So will this price loss frustrate bytemaster?

Here is the blunt question: will devs work more or work less when BTS price falled significantly? Or no impact at all? I heard from a seasoned coder that the BTS software development is not fast. I know he is a moderate guy, so I understand that his not fast is indeed slow .

I emphasis devs, because I think a well functional wallet and light wallet is the only things matter now. We (community members, investors, marketing enthusiasts ) simply cannot cook a meal without rice.

What's worse, it's possible here we are coming to a vicious circle: price and people confidence.

So if we can make some incentive plan offered to devs, aiming to work out a funtional 1.0 wallet due in Feb. by work 10 hours more weekly maybe?

I want to describe what happened first:
1. I put a sell order of 1169x BTS at 0.073xx (I can't remember exactly the both number), before I click confirm, my computer is power off due to a powercut;
2. When I open the computer again, the wallet can't open, I go to the roam find the "bitshares" folder is only 57M which should be close to 2G. What's worse, the "wallets" folder is blank with no data in it, seems corrupt;
3. Hopefully I have a copy of "bitshares" folder two days ago, I replaced it with this backup;
4. After 3, I found there is no open order or BTS balance;
5. Hopefully I have a copy of json wallet backup 12 hours ago, so I use the menu to import this latest json, still no BTS balance.

I don't use any console command because I'm not good at it. Can I get my 11699BTS back? How?

Thanks!

This is my first open post. If this would make any negative impact I’m sorry for that and it’s only my personal proposal for clarification.
1) 1.0 protocol must require many many work including start-from-scratch coding and on-chain testing (dvs chain).
2) No one, including talented person like bytemaster, bitmarket and many others in our community, can make real convincing marketing on a unfinished product imo.
3) From the following two posts, we could sum up that the dev team member is not so motivated in the perspective of salary. This is totally valid form theoretical point of view, many thanks for his frankness and willingness to have this open discuss.

4) Lack of motivation results in low efficiency and poor product quality.
5) Above all, this is crypto world under high speed development. Unfortunately we are losing our earned early investors much more quickly and also losing our appeal to potential new investors whoever might watching us during every seconds we “wasted” (forgive my poorly chosen wording, I’m poor in English). Especially the year ahead us is believed to be the year of bitcoin 2.0 technology which means many direct competitors out there which are in full speed.
So, my purpose of this post is to consider applying a KPI program on the dev members during the work into 1.0 protocol using I3 fund or delegate pay as a bonus. I know this KPI program will need many work in creating itself. I really don’t know if this is feasible or not. I just feel we need 1.0 ASAP and present situation is not favorable of this aim.
Thank you.
