I think the point danielauhlig is making is that if I don't check the forums for 6 months it's entirely possible that I could miss a launch announcement and end up having an investment in a DAC without being aware of it, and thus receive no benefit unless I somehow discovered it by chance or proactive searching.  I'm sure plenty of people will maintain lists of DACs that honor Protoshares, but I think it's a valid point that this issue doesn't seem to be handled internally, though I don't have a problem with it personally.

I answered half his question :)

But it is interesting. Let's say some evil DAC is created and honors PTS. There would be a link between you and the evil DAC that in theory could get you in trouble.

Hi bytemaster,

I've got my own web development company and would like to participate in the bounty.

Do I understand this correctly that http://invictus.io/ is the actual design you guys want by submitting to the github bounties? Or can we submit a completely new design?

I've got 5 developers waiting for your answer.

Hello,

You can submit a completely new design, I believe. As it says, it looks like he's looking for a clean, professional site.

Calling all artists. There's a great big bounty on logos and design. It's still [PENDING] but come join the fun!

We have our first artist signed onto trello! I think the logos are the most important part of the site. I'm hoping we see artists submit sets for all the logos: Keyhotee, AngelShares, BitShares, DomainShares, maybe another ProtoShare logo for good measure, and of course an Invictus Innovations Inc. logo. :)

1) Static Content or Basic PHP to manage headers/footers/language translation is preferred to systems dependent upon databases.  The site should load quickly and the content should be easily updated and versioned with github.  To test/deploy the site should be as simple as a git pull into the document root of a PHP enabled server.

Does this mean you don't want a web application. No javascript. No Bootstrap. Do you want a fixed width site with just html and css?

3) Stock Charts and price quotes may be the only dynamic content

Bytemaster, you want something that tracks the price of PTS and AGS, like the charts on coinplorer.com?

************************
Is there anyone out there who can handle this? I need to know how many PTS this will cost.

When someone produces a complete website which we find acceptable, we will make an announcement that all other entries must be submitted announced within 24 hours and submitted within 1 week.

Could you clarify this?

Thanks

[UPDATE] I am sad to say that I'm withdrawing from the competition.  :( I will leave these links up, if anyone wants to use them. I will shut them down after the bounty has been completed. Thanks  8)

I'm a professional Software Engineer and Linux systems developer.  My skills are on linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/david-dombrowsky/15/344/943

But I gotta be honest with you all, I'm not convinced that this isn't a scam.

You can review everything they do on github. If it looks like a scam, please notify me immediately!  ;)

But unlike all the altcoins, Invictus has public profiles and strong ties to the Bitcoin community.

I was recently inspired by this: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/emergent-networks-and-falling-hierarchy/#.Ur9syGQW3M4 on emergent networks.

Response to 1) I think there will always be cut-throat competition. On this project for instance, let's say there are two teams working on the problem. Only one team can win. That means it's going to be a complete waste of time for the losing team. Perhaps someone should have the unfortunate job of discouraging teams that are on the wrong track and have a low chance of winning. This would minimize wasted time. If the team was really spirited though, they could pivot and move in a new direction.

(By the by, I'm putting together a team for this. I'm thinking a three person team to set the outline and work out details. The team members must be willing to do a group video or phone conference. Our team would then set smaller bounties for other community members to write specific parts of the manual. This should be a fast way to get the job done.)
Study the work of John Nash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brkhuetnJmM (the Stag hunt) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stzPcqmyhI4  . There does not always have to be cut throat competition. That only happens when cut throat competition is the easiest winning strategy and that winning strategy is promoted by the market.

So we should not reward cut throat competition and instead reward cooperative competition. We are all on the same team as part of the same community/economic ecosystem and certain cut throat activities damage our ecosystem. Cheating for example is not good for anyone who wants to make a living following the rules. Just like how botnets aren't good for any of us who mined following the rules. If someone were just out to win in the most cut throat fashion then creating botnets is more lucrative than being fair, stealing someone elses ideas is more lucrative than coming up with your own, and sabotaging someone else's work is more lucrative than competing on merit.

If you look at how governments operate, they are cut throat and never compete fairly with each other. If we are trying to build the ideal free market then we should do what we can to try to understand how game theory can be used to produce cooperative capitalism so that competition is used only to make the overall economic ecosystem stronger, more robust, etc.

I watched the videos but I don't think they apply to my example of two teams, because the two teams are competing over one resource. Pepsi and Coke compete in a market, not for a single customer. The videos do apply to members of a team working to complete tasks. In that situation, some people can hunt stags and some people can catch hares, and we can all have something to eat.

Working on a bounty like this is risky. You always have the chance of being beaten by a lone genius who can produce things quickly.

I think there must be a principle that says every person or team working on a bounty must make their intentions public on the bounty thread before they start. So that way individuals and teams can decide how to proceed.

BitShares PTS / Re: [Megabounty Thread] Help Us Write the Protoshares Copy
« on: December 29, 2013, 12:18:27 am »
Let me see if I have got this right: Domainshares, the ID protocol for Keyhotee, and bitshares are DACs while Keyhotee itself is an application thriving on them? Protoshares is a DAC insofar as it is an autonomous cryptocurrency but not insofar as it involves a social contract for future shares?

BTW, you guys are doing an amazing job! This whole community inspires in me optimism about the future. I am browsing all this stuff in awe, investing more and more as I understand more and more.

Please checkout the DAC wiki. BitShares and DomainShares will be DACs. Keyhotee is an ID, messaging and wallet system. IDs are non-transferable and there are no dividends, so it's not a DAC: it's more of an application. ProtoShares is a not so unique crypto that functions more like shares in the DAC project.

29
What do you mean. My Private Key is in my PTS wallet do I always have to add my Private key to any new DAC. This would then require me to be constantly updated and informed of new DAC being launched.

What exactly does my Priv Key have to do with recieving shares in other dacs. Sorry I am really trying to understand your system.

They scan the pts blockchain to see how many pts everyone has. You have your private keys, so only you can claim the allocation to the new chain. To do this, there will be a process. Hopefully, it won't be that difficult. Things will be clearer later.

Marketplace / Re: 10 PTS - AngelShares Press Release Bounty [PENDING]
« on: December 28, 2013, 12:00:17 pm »
Invictus Innovations is pleased to announce AngelShares, an unique crowd funding strategy that will allow us to rapidly expand and grow. This announcement comes only one month after our release of ProtoShares, a Bitcoin clone remarkable not for its design but for its purpose--to put a market value on our ideas and to build a community of supporters. This was a complete success, ProtoShares reached a market capitalization of $25 million dollars in just one month and attracted a thriving community of supporters.

AngelShares will use a simulated mining pool strategy to promise shares for donations. Everyday, donors can send ProtoShares or Bitcoins to the mining pool in return for a portion of that day's 10,000 AngelShares. We plan to do this for 200 days. This method of crowd funding allows us to redirected resources that would normally be wasted on mining equipment and electricity and apply them to rapidly developing and promoting decentralized autonomous companies (DACs).

We are also weeks away from our release of Keyhotee--a crypto-based ID, messaging and wallet system. And we are four months away from releasing our flag ship DAC BitShares--a Decentralized Bank and Exchange.

To learn more about the BitShares Bank and Exchange and how to participate in its development, you can visit us at http://invictus-innovations.com

(Anyone is free to use all, some or none of my press release. ;))
