Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Worker Proposal] Chronos Crypto videos

It's nice to see that the community has recognized the value of the worker and pushed it in the green zone !

Nicely done Chronos !

It seems the anti-dilution crowd has lost some significant support ..
Well, that's an amazing news ! The very purpose of the reserve pool is allow us to move forward when needed, this chinese movment was scary !
BitShares need to keep evolving and keep its edge until we are recognize for our true value.

It's gonna be an interesting summer with the videos of Chronos coming soon, all the projects of Kencode evolving fast, bunkerchainlabs related projects, maybe Altcap or Bit20 taking off and bringing some volume on the dex, ... and at the end of the summer, the end of the merger dilution.

General Discussion / Re: Does anyone has an opinion to Lisk?
« on: May 24, 2016, 11:42:32 pm »
It was so poor... Max came out and complained about the DDoS attack, when he didn't have a installer ready...

I am still stuck and can't move my lisk. I just wanted to exist at around 0.0018 and I was so close, but so far....
Same here, it's late now, I give up and will try again tomorow.

The price has fallen hard. I think now we just have to wait until the next rise. I wouldn't be surprise to see higher prices that those we saw today on Polo in the next months if they keep up working as well as they did so far. Everything was nicely done except for the launch.

Isn't it weird this increasing price ? Is there a remote possibility that lisk conserve its current price price after release ?
Unlikely volumes are very low.

I take that back. I see LISK will be trading on Poloniex from the outset. Should still fall from pre-launch prices but could trade much higher than I initially anticipated.

Besides getting on there, also great move announcing it only recently, been very impressed with their business acumen to date.
Very professional in all aspect until now indeed !

I guess the price will drop probably between 0.5 and 1$. If I can sell some at higher prices, I will definitively consider buying back some below 0.5$.

I'm not a trader, it's pure noob speculation. Any advice is welcome !

I don't really know. I see it settling above $0.5 too, so I doubt I will sell below there if it dumps initially and will probably also buy back in some at below that level.

I think a lot of people have the same idea though and considering the capital sloshing around on Polo I think it could surprise to the upside.
Well, in anyway it will be a lot of fun to watch

The price is moving up just before the official release.

I'm not a trader but the price have a tendency to drop heavily when the real token hit the exchanges.

More over, as worlwide professional poker players would be highly interested in having a low rake and anonimity, I think that it would be easy to gather them and have help to spread the word.

I know, I wouldn't stop speaking about it on my poker social channels if it would be available.

Poker may seem like one of a lot of online gambling games but it's not.

It's the place where tremendous amounts of money are played every day. It's also a field where centralised rooms and governments are killing players with high rakes and exaggerated  taxes.

There is a desperate need for a decentralised poker with low rake and anonymity.
The days it become a reality, there will be a huge interest amongst worldwide professional players.
With a simple communication through the biggest poker forum, that could have an game changing impact on Peerplay.

It's just my opinion but I really think poker hasn't to be neglected in the structure of the platform ;)

About the collusion in poker game. I'm sure some friends can play a couple of tables and give them info on their cards. That would allow them to have a slight advantage because they can estimate better the odds in the game. I don't think it's a big deal.

I've been playing professionally for years, I usually play around 12 tables in mid-high stakes. I would win more by tables if I could collude with someone but I couldn't do that playing my 12+ tables. It's way more profitable to play 1 more table than lose your time trying to collude with someone.

I'm pretty sure if someone has a deep understanding of the math involve in poker games, if their are able to collude effectively, they would win more just playing as much table (without colluding) as they can.

The biggest problem nowadays with decentralised poker is that recent AI poker bots are doing really well. I use one to keep learning and better understanding the game at deep level.

This is a real problem, you won't have anyone playing poker games if the room is populated with bots.

One of the best poker bot has already proved itself able to beat very good high stake players.

There is a lot of interesting conversations on decentralised poker on the thread of the Pangea project (NXT decentralised poker project / seem dead atm)

https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=6628.0

As a big chunk (very big chunk) of the money a professional poker player win is lost in the rake (around 5% on each pot), the first effective decentralised poker room with a low rake (1%)
could potentially be a huuuuge success and bring lots of money on the plateform.

I know I wouldn't hesitate to play decentralised poker if it allows me to double my annual winnings thanks to a low rake !

Good question ! It won't be easy.

We should start with a list of what we absolutely want in the main page and what can be linked to another page.

I think we all have great ideas on what to display on bitshares.org. The tricky part won't be to decide what we are going to show on the web site (because everything is relevant) but how to articulate the information ... Tabs, menu, sub menus, homepage, ...

We should produce some basic plans on how the info will be srtuctured.

wanted to chime in, too :)

very interesting project, I will also update the bts_tools package to publish this feed and will publish it myself once I get around to do it. At the moment, I'm right in the middle of a refactoring + adding support for steem, so it'll take a couple more weeks I imagine, but you can count me in!
Thanks !!! I will !

I guess we won't wait much more. The script is in the Mindphlux hands ;)

This is just quick solution to avoid more delays. I have something better in the pipeline for publishing the price in a completely decentralised way but alowing me to add easily more code in the index revision system if needed without having to update the scripts with all the witnesses everytime.

can't wait to buy some!!!  +5% +5% +5%
So do I.

I think is a nice investment.
You can let your money grow smoothly over the years.
I don't think the buyers market will be a problem. It will be a little tricky to get shorters shorting at a decent price. But I think that if the liquidity grows on one side, it would eventually grow on the other ;)

Just to keep you in touch guys, I finally found a way to produce to price feed. I had a lot of problems but it should work very soon.

I set up un python script from xeroc with the value of the index from my website and mindphlux kindly agreed to run it.

As soon as mindphlux find the time to test and run it, if there is no more unexpected problems, the index should be alive and ready to be trade.

I will start a new official thread for Bittwenty as soon as the feed price is updated. The web site is also done and is just wainting to be made official.

You've probably read it in this 245 replies long thread here ;p  :

http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=22082.0

That's a real problem, BTS has been made to have funds available to grow. This one of the best thing we have, we should think how o best allocate these fund and not stop spend. Come on anti dilution community, don't you want to have your money x 100 in 3 years ?

Start a war with exchanges is very dangerous, if someone could persuade  Poloniex and BTC38 to give their voting power to someone, it would be the end of BitShares democracy.

I have a suggestion. Someone with a confidence voice, speaking a good english make a quick video showing how to vote in the wallet. (That could be done in an hour). While showing how to vote,  he explain why voting for a proxy like "xerox" who support workers is the best way of keeping BitShares in the path of success and grow the investment in BTS of everyone . These daily funds we have are there to develop BitShares. The sell pressure is caused mainly by the merger. Without workers, we will loose our competitive advantage in 6 months, bla bla bla
The "bla bla bla" should be all the good reasons we've seen in the 245 replies in the thread.

Once the video is done, every one here start sending transactions of 0.01 BTS with a quick message in the memo and the link to the video to the big and small whales who are not voting.

Here are a few one :

mcxcwbts 11,107,976
goldsix 6,050,401
ubris 6,000,000
miso69 4,833,076
lambda1 4,063,036
deepweb 2,974,341
jaehyuk 3,876,514
andrewmiao 3,786,080
tomliu 3,719,558
go-danny-go 3,533,157
mike-primorac 3,479,329
bts-ats8088 3,778,135
freggieleggie 1 3,401,362
brentallsop 3,247,576
zy360 2,891,468
bts-fruitsalad 2,804,446
operations.hyperetas 2,626,603
rand1 2,586,347
thread 2,553,716
hardfork 2 2,545,413

Which is 76,201,801 BTS not voting.

You can have fun and find more here and using CryptoFresh to check their voting :

http://richlist.btsgame.org/#/richlist/bts

I'm sure if this video is well made and only 10 of us would send these transactions/reminder to vote, we could made a big difference ! Also we would have a weapon for these kind of situations. If you look for more ppl who don't vote, you'll find easily more than 76 million BTS. In about a couple of hours, I could find 100-150 millions.

I'm not able to do the video myself with my terrible Belgian accent and my poor english. Maybe it could be the association between a nice voice like fuzzy and a good script from one of our best mind in here.

We just need one or two volunteers to make this short video ( 1-2 min max ) and we can start as a community, to show how organised we can be and how we solve big problems with simple solutions.

@emailtooaj - you are an amazing video maker with an AWESOME voice. maybe a bounty from us to create this quick video on voting?
Chris Coney @JonnyBitcoin does great explanatory videos as well.
So, let's try it. Which of you would like to do this for us and how much does the bounty for you need to be?

@EstefanTT has a brilliant idea here and I think we should give it a shot!
@xeroc has brownies left for this purpose. If everybody agrees on a decent bounty, not symbolic but not overpaid, xeroc can aprove it.

The video would be done in no time and all our workers voted back in progressively.

Imagine you are a whale and are not voting probably because you think it's probably still complicated as it was in bts 0.9. You receive 17 transcations from different members asking you to check a 1-2 min video and consider voting. Even if you have very few spare time, you will at least, watch the video, out of curiosity.

We should propose the better proxies and explain how it works. It's simple and they'll know they just have to set it once.

If the video is well done, it should not promote voting wotkers but try to teach the benefits of maintaining them working and the big risks of having them out.  Like that we don't start a war with the antidilution ppl.
