There's no real way to know for sure. My guess is he still has some stake. I mean, why wouldn't he?

Check your transaction history.  It should see a transaction from the Genesis block.

Something like 014-07-25T01:39:43 0         GENESIS             riverhead           908.87602 BTSX          claim PpdzTk4N9iGYfy3xtHU....

If mining stops are you suggesting the current supply is it and no more coins will be created? I'm not against that idea, just curious if that's what you meant.

Also putting a link to the bitshares.org in your forum signatures will up the page rank on Google.

After reading through the .p2p site I can honestly say this has me super excited. I've long lamented the centralized nature of dns registration.
Perhaps because I'm more technical than business minded and just "get" this product I'm more excited about this release than BitsharesX.

Have you looked at http://dotp2p.io?
That's our new home page for this project. There will be a much more professional intro video there soon, and there is a bit more useful info there now.

Page looks great and answered all my questions...and ones I didn't know I had :) .  Can this URL be added to your [ANN] OP?

The Red Power Toast gets to Test D/POwerS of DPOS!!

Nothing but a bold goddamn move, excited and terrified and elated on your behalf :D

How are squatters going to be handled?

The whole concept of .p2p was conceived to avoid squatting with a clever auction-style selling of names.

Thank!  That URL should be in the OP.

https://github.com/BitShares/BitShares-PTS/releases/tag/v1.0.0

The original protoshares website is down: http://invictus.io/bitshares-pts.php
See the broken link in the sidebar of the subreddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/protoshare/.
This link (also found in various places) is broken: http://invictus-innovations.com/downloads/

The link you provided (the github repo) is not found anywhere on the Bitshares website - not even on the page that describes Protoshares.

Edit: added broken link
Point taken.  Since PTS still plays a major role in the allocation of future releases from I3 and others using the Bitshares-toolkit it would make sense for it to feature more prominently on the updated public facing sites.  Given the small size of I3's dev team and the releases of late it wouldn't surprise me if this is on the plan.

If the CLI built fine then the GUI shouldn't have any trouble either.  What issue are you facing?

If I may suggest, to ensure long term involvement and participation from established businesses. Make sure people with .com domains can somehow claim them. This will eliminate squatting names like Facebook, Microsoft, etc. perhaps if they can digitally sign using the DNS records you can award to their public key. Think long term 5 years from now.

This. No one wants to play that game again. How are squatters going to be handled?

UPDATE: It's explained here - http://dotp2p.io/faq/index.php#faq-squatting
