Typo in Open Ledger should be fixed:

"This faucet accepts names with at least one dash number or dot, or no vowles."

--->vowels

Bter would be logical choice because they got attacked this could change their image.

You know, that's true. I hadn't thought of it, because I agree with Ander that both Cryptsy and Bter have become junk. I wouldn't be that excited to partner with them. But the fact is that someone still uses those exchanges, so as long as they are going to operate honestly (a major 'if'), they could always bring that volume here. And maybe re-establish credibility.

O.M.G. That is the single best article on BitShares I have seen in a news source. Very comprehensive and analytical, yet taking the time to see the forest for the trees. Excellent job, people.

I am posting it here. Please weigh in:

This is extremely powerful. And it could well fuel exponential growth. If Einstein were alive today...

Thanks for your post and for thinking of a way to help BitShares. Unfortunately, this idea turns out not to be something we can use. A couple of years ago, every coin wanted to be on Cryptsy and Big Vern was speaking at conferences, etc. Now, as others have said, most of us are thankful not to be on there. They are not honest and the BitShares community's experience with Cryptsy has not been good. A week ago, Coin Fire reported that Cryptsy is involved in a federal investigation. Now Coin Fire is not a fully credible source and Big Vern has denied any investigation. But I'll just say that if it turns out Cryptsy IS involved in something shady, very few people around here will be surprised.

Here is my take on BTS current situation:

Crypto Sphere has been anticipating the launch of BTS 2.0 for over a year. The platform is said to be groundbreaking and a breakthrough.

At the moment, just before the launch, it sits above dash.

After the launch, I don’t see it falling bellow the instamined dash, cause if it does then the project will be tagged as an absolute failure that couldn’t even compete with an instamined sh..

If the project is a success then it has Ethereum as competition. For it to be tagged a success it has to surpass Ethereum market cap but not at the current valuation. Ethereum has had its moment and is now on its deathbed. Bitshares has to surpass the Ethereum market cap once it was on its peak.

Success may come immediately, but more likely it will take time to introduce 2.0 to the world. I would never judge this project's success by next week's price. If it's at the same place next year, then we've done something wrong. Whales and market swings aside, my guess is that we'll soon see something rare in the crypto world: a slow and steady increase over time as more and more businesses jump onto BitShares and move up the volume, as individuals also discover the many problems it solves.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Spread to other exchanges.

NOTE will go away. After the snapshot, it will be replaced by MUSE or something similar (not sure if they've decided on the currency title). I'm sure we'd all love to see it on more exchanges!

Edit: Here's the link you need.

Excellent. Now if you can turn that into a business plan with one "bitcoin" mention in every ten words, I'm quite confident you'll get some venture funding.

Did you guys ever market test that name, Coinomat? Everyone I've talked to thinks it's a coin laundry.

General Discussion / Re: Hoarding bitshares (the Cryptocurrency death)
« on: October 05, 2015, 05:35:17 pm »
It's a myth that hoarding harms a currency. If no one is giving, spending, or trading it, then that might hurt demand simply because the outside world is not learning about it. We are all responsible for bringing BitShares to the world, whether we are spending it or not. But that obligation is separate from holding, which does nothing to limit the coin's potential. If it is in high demand, then a smaller slice will simply be worth more. You can keep moving the decimal point, which is one of the wonderful things about cryptocurrencies.

Stan can't be responsible for problems and business partners situations really to expect that would not be fair

Someone who expects every lead to materialize and every third party to deliver on its promises clearly has no experience with startups. That isn't how things work in business. You're lucky if 1 in 10 of these things ever develops. Kudos to Stan and the team for continuing to keep us in the loop.
