It's hard to keep up with you ! Do you ever sleep ??

I will tell you if someone could use your tokens. It's a very cool idea !

#sharebits EstefanTT 5000 TRYBITSHARES

Perhaps you could help me.  The last i checked it...if you retweet my giveaways you double the tip (if your account is holding the token in the message u rt).  Could you rt some of my tip posts so people feel like they just got "double the love"?
we can see if it still works that way and see if it helps inprove our presence?

Ask @fuzzy for some TRYBITSHARES, it's the peefect token to play with ;p

Maybe it coulld be THE token of all meetups ... to reinforce the feeling of unity in the BitShares community ?

well well well EstefanTT.  Looks like someone is paying attention to my work beyond the forums :D

Esteffan of you know anyone who wants them let me know. they wont cost a dime.  Maybe we could get a worker to put in buy orders for them so people who TRY the exchange by selling them will get a few BTS for their time.  :)

I greatly appreciate all of you. Hangouts are not for Fuzzy to tell the community what to think. They are for all of you to give a voice to the only chain that actually cares about your voice from its very foundation.  Your questions, comments and concerns are how we boil all the system dynamics of the forums into a couple hours each week...this makes it easier for people who want to know what is going on in bitshares, but also do not have time to wade through the forums and our hangouts.  This lowers barriers to entry and opens us up to have more listeners and community members.

Hello everybody,

I'm currently in Budapest, and I decided to launch a meetup around BitShares. The meetup name is actually "Beyond Bitcoin: exploring blockchain possibilites"; @fuzzy hopefully you won't mind for the copyright infringement!

There is a Bitcoin meetup group here, but I haven't met them yet. However 30 bitcoiners joined my group, seems promising  :).

I'll try to make my first event in the coming weeks. I plan to:
- present the vision and limits of Bitcoin, following BM's arguments from his talk in Las Vegas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U44MujtVj00)
- present BitShares from a theoretical point of view, probably focussing on DPOS and smartcoins/DEX
- make a demo of the wallet. I registered the account bts-budapest for the occasion, which I'll probably upgrade to a lifetime account and use for referring

I welcome any tips, experience or advice on organizing the event: for example what should I do to provide a good DEX first experience? What kind of tokens should I offer to the attendees? What should I do with the referral income (if any..) to further promote the group?

PS: tourist shops accept Euros, but the fiat money here is Forints (HUF)

upset?  i want to partner with you!

our community is seen as a hostile community to outsiders.

- we think we are superior to all the other projects (at least the outside thinks this about us)

We are the least connected community if you think about how often we are mentioned and talked about us.

in converences their are no people invited to talk with other communities about the challanges crypto sees. So when should
new blood coming into bitshares?

everyone should get up and doing something!

well i keep telling everyone we can get people to try bitshares simply by making their own tokens, putting in a small buy order for bts and then let them sell them in under 3 seconds...

I am not the only one already doing it (reaching out in ways few other cryptos can)..and it gets peoples attention.

You can only lead a horse to water (er.... www.sharebits.io) though.

Im definitely up for ideas on how we could all work together in some way.  someone posted a community awhile back on this thread pointing us to it in order to potentially partbrr with them, but like a week later when i went to find it and reach out the person who posted it must have deleted it...

From my perspective, the biggest problem with adoption is getting BTC over to bitbtc in a cost effective manner. Let's say I transfer in some openbtc. If I decide I'd like to purchase bts, the openbtc/bts market is priced unfavorably compared to bitbtc/bts. This is going to sound naive, but I feel that "like currencies" should be exchanged not on an open market but on a one-to-one basis with only a handling fee applied, say .1%. This would dramatically spur activity because people would be able to get into the core asset at an acceptable exchange rate.

As an example, I'd like to be able to exchange openbtc for bitbtc at a published flat rate or a very small percentage fee.

Nice ^

General Discussion / Re: Do we have a Stack Exchange Page?
« on: January 27, 2016, 06:33:45 am »
I don't think we need one at this point in time ..
the developer community is not large enough so that an attempt to get one would simply fail due to too little interest ..

Once we have more developers that could vote FOR creation of a stackexchange page, we should certainly try to get one ... but IMHO, now is too early

Wait...you have to vote for it to be put up?

If not I suggest we make one.  I know of some competitors who are already using one.

Karnal I agree with pretty much most of what you have said. It's work work work and the only way it gets done is blood sweat and tears, utilising what we have and reach out (as fuzzy says,) inspire people to join and pour new effort or capital in for profit or the vision.

All those options are on the table and are being worked on as we speak!

on the table.  :)

So, is the consensus "yes" on anonymous voting or "no" it won't work?

I'm too stoned to know who won the BM vs. monsterer battle...

pseudonymous because the level of difficulty of tracking a specific individuals vote becomes far more difficult with every person added.
