How come 3 witnesses are already changing to 5%?

Thanks for the explanation @bitcrab. Sounds like a possible try out to be done.

Your answer seems just to be in response to the fact you now realize you are losing your position. Coming here to just say sorry after 12 days without earlier notification, also coincidentally in the same period as the 'node issues' you had no time for committee and coincidentally in this period you moved your bts to Polo. I think you now just realize that it is a true waste not to be witness with this bts price. I would say, Too late buddy...

Quick question. Products like Blockpay run on the Bitshares network. Does that mean that when products like these are getting used more, Bitshares is also profiting from that in terms of received fees? Same question for Stealth. Or how does this work?

Buy bitBTC or OPEN.BTC.  I'm guessing the alt coin pump is coming to an end and bitcoin will probably bounce back to having %75-%80 market cap dominance.

Other than Xeroc's worker, there hasn't been anything really of note to get super bullish on BTS (I'm sure someone will post a huge list of all the great things coming for bts).  It's the same story with most of the other alts.  Random pumps.

Trolls can recognized by the fact they are hanging around on fora of coins they like to buy for lower prices and because of that spreading the word out that these coins are not going to rise any further, but instead will decline in value. Often this is because they are frustrated of missing out a first pump. They tell you to buy BTC instead, so when the alt coin (in this case BTS) starts rising again, you can easily convert back and boost the price even more for the troll, who has by then bought his stake against a lower price. @lil_jay890 seems a perfect example.

Calling someone a troll because they have a negative view of a financial instrument that you are long isn't an argument... It's an attempt to self-reinforce your own bias.

The whole "people are just talking negative so they can drive down the price to buy at lower prices" argument is BS.  Even with BTS getting in on the everything Alt pump, it's been bumping along the bottom of its range for years.  If this alt coin pump dies out, what do you think the odds are that BTS stays elevated?  I would say it's not very likely since BTS still has many of the same issues that IMO have caused it to fall.

Granted I'm not surprised a guy with 7 forum posts and who just created his account 2 weeks ago  is all bullish... You probably just bought in and were chasing the pump.

If you are so negative and not interested in buying BTS for lower, the question is why are you spending time on this forum? Are you short? Maybe that is the interest...

Thanks @xeroc for answering these questions. So if products like Openledger are used more, this will increase the value of BTS too, right? Regarding the chicken-egg problem on liquidity. What's done to solve that problem?

Thanks for the answers on the above questions! This helps to understand the project way better.

Some more to add:

- Why is there an entity called Bitshares Munich? It has an own website, but that looks a bit amateur/basic to be honest.

- What are the most important topics that are currently under development?

- I heard something about an upcoming fork. Is that true and if yes, why is that needed and when will this happen?

- What is the reason there are already so many products ready, but Bitshares marketcap is still so low (low usage)?

- What marketing efforts is Bitshares making in order to get more usage of the many products that already exist and with that receiving more fees?

- The pool of BTS for paying workers is quite large. Who owns access to that pool and how safe is it to protect for theft by people why do have access?

Thanks for answering

Why was there a two year downtrend in the first place?

General Discussion / Some basic newbie questions
« on: March 26, 2017, 01:23:18 am »
Hi there,

I am new to Bitshares and have a few basic questions:
- where can I find information about the team working on development?
- where can I find a roadmap that is up to date? I can only find old information.
- if I go to the online exchange via the homepage it seems that the data is not loaded. When will the exchange be up and running?
- when will stealth be fully implemented (not test)?
- what is BitUSD and why is the marketcap of this so much lower than before?
- what drives the value of a bitshare?
- Bitshares works with DPOS if I am correct. How many servers are there and how does the voting work?
- how do we know the servers are really decentralised and not managed by one or a few people or institutes.
- how do servers get paid?

Thanks for your answers and help.
