Technical Support / Bitshares Core- Creating a Vesting / Staking operation
« on: September 03, 2018, 04:29:32 am »
So looking at the docs here: https://bitshares.org/doxygen/group__operations.html there is an operation defined here:

graphene::chain::vesting_balance_create_operation

It doesnt specify if this can be used on any Bitshares asset however? Is it possible to stake any UIA via this operation? I assume this is how Cryptobridge are staking BCO?

Thanks

Technical Support / How is a UIA burned?
« on: December 12, 2017, 07:31:43 pm »
Like Open.BTC for example, if you deposit BTC then openledger will issue an OPEN.BTC, but when you withdraw BTC it should be destroyed, how does an issuer destroy a UIA?

General Discussion / Bitshares-UI 'My Markets' menu
« on: November 12, 2017, 12:28:15 pm »
It seems the 'My Markets' menu has a hardcoded amount of markets. It also seems they dont track the volume of other coins trading on the DEX as per cryptofresh. Additionally why are Openledger coins default on this panel (e.g. an open.BTC tab)? We have many gateways now, the default downloadable UI should be neutral on this.

Can anyone explain these two things as to why? Is this something that needs to be rolled into another bitshares-UI update?

General Discussion / DEX Trading fees
« on: April 01, 2017, 07:39:13 am »
Quick question from a Newbie, if you are trading a pair containing two cryptos with differing 'Market fees' specified like OPEN.BTC (0.2%) / BitUSD (0%) it would be assumed the total cost for this trade would be 0.2%. However if BitUSD had a 0.2% fee then the total would be 0.4% in trade fees is this correct? 0.2% deducted either side, and if one was 0.3% then it would have 0.3% deducted from one side?

Also, in the above example of OPEN.BTC and BitUSD, when I exchange 1 OPEN.BTC for say 1000 BitUSD, how are the fees deducted? For example do I end up paying 1 OPEN.BTC for 998 BitUSD or 0.998 OPEN BTC for 1000 BitUSD?

General Discussion / Where exactly is the DEX?
« on: January 29, 2017, 05:00:49 pm »
Hi, I am just trying our BItshares, I downloaded the client on bitshares.org and am looking at the integrated exchange feature. Is this just connecting to Openledger.info on the backend? From my understanding Openledger is a counterparty like any old exchange, the assets they issues like OPEN.BTC have no proof of reserves or anything you just trust they have the equivalent amount of OPEN.BTC to support trades, is this correct? The bitshares website talks alot about the DEX so does it exist on the client I downloaded and when I place trades I am trading with others using the client or how does it work? Thanks!
