Technical Support / Re: Can't open wallet but have private keys

Hello

I am getting the same problem as  cubicdissection.

Where can I download client version version 0.5.4?

https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares/releases/tag/bts%2F0.5.3

Thank you very much!

I was looking for  0.5.4 and could not find it so took  0.5.3 instead. Looked here for help and you said the same thing.
It worked, thanks again  ;D

General Discussion / Re: nuBits: 9$ - nice peg
« on: February 06, 2015, 03:22:20 pm »
this is very strange,
nubits usually have better peg then bitusd, but when their peg fail it is catastrophic failure

this is huge plus for us   ;)

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Delegates please provide BitEUR price feeds

these are great news, you could also feed BitRUB to catch new Russian market that everyone is talking about  ;D

There should be a keyfile option implemented in next versions of the wallet.

Using classical password in parallel with keyfile stored on usb stick could prevent this type of theft. Small separate stick with many similar files to keyfile used only when accessing wallet is cheap and fast method to at least double security. Wallet file and keyfile must be in different locations (and not on the same usb stick).

Also there is possibility of using 2FA. I know that is pain in the ass, but that could improve security too.

Good luck, I hope this resolves positively for educatedwarrior as well as for BitShares.

General Discussion / Re: Should we continue to funding mining of PTS?

even discussing about this topic is hurting the BTS ecosystem, I3 is loosing its credibility and fragmenting its support by ever changing rules and social contracts   :(

It's silly because to the outworld community (people who dont understand bitshares) it will show a crack in the system of bitshares. People dont get whats for what in our system, they see bitshares as one whole thing. If one falls (and thats how it would be viewd by outsiders when it "shuts down"), people will be warry of bying into other DACS - you guys must look at it from outside, as if you dont really understand the concept and you are an average crypto user. Its a BAD idea.... (not saying that keeping to mine them is good)

completely agree with you

also think these revisions are hurting bitshares as well as III, look at Adam B. Levine, he is right about many things related to original ideas

how I see it, best will be to upgrade PTS difficulty retargeting and let it mine to 2M, after all is mined transfer it to DPOS as an asset

original plan was to leave PTS liquid, so leave it liquid

I think MetaTrader is good example of providing newsfeeds, also with downloadable content.
They used many clever solutions, if you have tried the program you will know how friendly to use it is. I could even say the best program out there with many neat features.

Every broker uses its own version of MetaTrader, similarly DACs can use protoclient that is modified to needs of a specific DAC.

Also it would be nice to have trading tools like charts, indicators and even scripts and robots (expert advisors) built in BTSX client.

Another way of doing it (probably the easiest) will be implementing MetaTrader version for BTSX.
