Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Why so silent?
« on: July 13, 2016, 11:08:50 am »
Hello.  Is it possible to trade MUSE  (Peertracks.com) coins?  I am logged-in  OpenLedger but can't find it :(  Maybe it is under different abbreviation (Market) not "MUSE"??

Do we have a search bar in OpenLedger?

Where can I read what each short names ( BTSR, ICOO, MKR etc) mean???  I am watching under BTS trading column. I am also interested how much of these coins (MUSE) will be issued over time?  Thank you.

https://s31.postimg.org/hsv9ddex7/post.png

click on exchange > 'FIND MARKETS'
were you see the tabs at the top 'OPEN.BTC' 'OPEN.ETH' 'OPEN.usdt' 'OPEN.EURT' 'BTS' 'OTHERS'
click 'BTS'
then type OPEN.MUSE in search

according to coinmarketcap Available Supply = 1,370,462,915 MUSE   Total Supply = 1,520,462,915 MUSE

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: steemit in the bitshares wallet
« on: June 14, 2016, 10:48:56 pm »
hey sorry for my last post, but it was a drunken fart.
will try again now sober.

this is the view point of a noob, fanboy and simply end user.
i can't comment on the technically side, or if it can be implemented.

its just an idea after taking a look a the etherwallet
and what i really liked about it.
The proposals tab.

in the ether wallet in the proposals tab, i get info on what proposals have been made
and if i click on them i get some more basic info in the wallet without having to click a external link.
with the option to go to a external link for more info and to discuss this topic further.

just wondering if we can get a proposals (tab/thing) and more info in the bitshares wallet,
like the ether wallet.

This can be a good way of informing bitshares users who don't spend time on the forums of when their
is a discussion/proposal on the future of bitshares occuring.

also
when i go to the worker, witnesses or committee members i get very little info and a link to a external website.
links to unknown url's is not something i want to click on
(especially on a computer i am running a crypto wallet on)
many of the committee members links do not work or have little or no info has to why i should vote
them in has committee members.
same with the witnesses,
most worker proposal links have done a very good job explaining why i should vote for them.

dele-puppy  https://github.com/gileadmcgee/dele-puppy
here does a great simply job of asking to be voted in has a witness.
nice simply markdown text.
no flashly site that does NOT explain why i should vote for him.

steemit would be ideal for this kind of posting, then at the bottom you can put your links to github commits, and websites projects you are working on.

while many committee members are know names/projects they are only know to people
who have been following the forums, and beyond bitcoin (btw great show fuzzy and everyone who takes part init)
and bitshares in general.

new user will not know this.

committee members, witnesses and workers should keep in mind the NEW members of bitshares.
Who don't know who they are, what they have done and what they are doing and why they should vote for them.

The best selling point of DPOS for me was the right to vote are stake.

Stakeholder Proposals / steemit in the bitshares wallet
« on: June 11, 2016, 05:18:21 pm »
hey guys just a quick idea i would like to put out there.

1st off i am not a dev , i am just a simply lazy end user and a small stake holder in bitshares.
and forgive my grammar.

i was checking out myetherwallet.com#dao-propsals and its really nice.
wondering if you can do something like this in the bitshares wallet?
something like steemit were only bitshares stake holders can vote and post on.
voting power = share of stake in bitshares.
with a cost of *bts per post.

also when it comes to voting for delegates it not that easy for the lazy end user (me) to know who they are voting for and why.

if something like steemit can be added to the bitshares wallet , there could be a delegates section were delegates and people wanting to be delegates ( or asking for proxy voting power) can post, explaining why they are running has a delegate and why you should vote for them? and be able to vote your stake on the page.

something like this could make voting for delegates and proposals social media easy.

also if you did not hear about this: bittorrent filesystem, With BTFS, you can mount any .torrent file or magnet link and then use it as any read-only directory in your file tree

General Discussion / Re: Light Wallet Beta Release
« on: February 20, 2015, 05:07:57 pm »
script: Not really... The only deps it has that the full node doesn't have (unfortunately, the light wallet deps everything the full node does, due to the absurd interdependence of our libraries) is Qt 5.4 and those two QML libraries.

did not mean anything bad by that quote :) it just when i saw cn-members post a binary for the wallet i was like YA this is going to be easy.
loaded up a fresh mint install on virtualbox downloaded the file , little did i know the fun had only just started.

I'm getting failures installing qml-extras, first missing QtTest, and then QtQuick on Mint 17.1.

Does someone have a dependency list?

this works on a fresh mint install on virtualbox - tested it twice on clean installs its was linuxmint-17.1-xfce-64bit on virtualbox.
I may of over done dependency's but i kept getting that fliping QtQuick 2.3 not installed bug, so i include all the things!

##### if wallet fails to open with QtQuick 2.3 not installed error - rerun just the line below #######
source /opt/qt54/bin/qt54-env.sh
#### if wallet fails to open - rerun just the line above ######

EDIT: when i said this worked i may of spoken too soon! still tinkering
EDIT2: sry guys yesterday was tried and grumpy and even making a cup of tea went wrong.
the above works fine on a fresh install of linux mint in virtualbox. if you get a 'QtQuick 2.3 not installed' when you start the wallet, close wallet and in terminal enter
Quote
source /opt/qt54/bin/qt54-env.sh
and restart wallet it will work fine.
the light wallet is coming along really nice. good job from the team working on it.

What make you think bter is down for 7150 btc, this exchange move milions per month and work with banks, maybe have an insurance maybe can take a credit, maybe have a bag with his huge profits per months running.

i think keep closed to give time to police examine right everything.

imposible bankrupt for only 7k btc.

i hope you are right, i like bter.
but the idea of a DAC buying a company and turning it into a DAC does sound delicious :)

good to hear gambling is not going to be on the bts wallet, has someone who had a gambling problem once ,
the last thing i need is a dice or bingo game in my bank account wallet.

if you want gambling setup another dac for it,a p2p decentralized betfair, delegates can be voted in/out on sports result feeds.
but i am not a coder, just a dreamer.

General Discussion / Re: Demographics to approach for Bitshares X.
« on: January 13, 2015, 11:08:17 am »
reaching outside of the crypto space.
-----------------------------
consider using a delegate position/s to sponser shows that are not about bitshares or bitcoin.

while i enjoy watching bitshares.tv , listening to the mumble chats , and reading bytemasters blog
these are not really going to attract new people to bitshares ,
and are more likly to be viewed/hear/read by people who heard about bitshares from else were and came to find out more.

i would like to suggest sponsering 'The Linux Action' @ http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com

the jupiter broadcasting network has a good following of people
who would be a good demographic to reach, sysadmins, developers, operating system maintainers, fans of open source software.

bitshares business model for using delegate positions to fund good open source free software sounds like something
richard stallman would appove of. bitshares business model and what it stands for is something that should have a appeal to the larger open source community , outside of the bitcoin and bitcoin 2.0's space.

also jupiterbroadcasting is also crowd funded has well has sponsered, with bitshares music coming out soon which from what i heard so far may also be a good way to fund podcasts i feel this may be a good way to get more people with technical skills involved with bitshares and provide good feedback to help improve the bitshares network.

hear bitshares may have a Referral system, if there is then it would be a good way to measure how successful advertising is by seeing how many people sign up with sponsered referral links?

http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/advertising/

---------------------------

another place you may want to consider having interviews may be with 'The trews' - with russell brand.
https://www.youtube.com/user/russellbrand

the current state of affaires is something he is interested in.
especially the roll of big brother and large companies screwing over the little guy in order to make profit.
try contacting him and see if he would like to have a talk with dan or the bitshares music team
about the current state of the music industry and what bitshares music can bring to this space
the applyed change it can bring to both the musician and the fans reducing the role of middlemen in the industry.
pointing out solutions is better than just pointing out problems, and something he may be interested in.
