Technical Support / Re: openledger unknown account
« on: May 23, 2017, 02:00:54 pm »
happens more often than not, have tried 10 different APIs but it still keeps happening. After like 20 goes it eventually works...
Edit: To help anyone still struggling with a similar issue, it was down to having too many accounts. I was able to load up the account page, inspect element and wait for js to load full account list, clicked on keys, exported the private keys for the accounts I cared about and then imported them manually into a new wallet and it works fine now.

General Discussion / Open Ledger Trading
« on: April 23, 2016, 07:23:48 am »
Been away from here for a while... Trying to figure out what the latest is.
I'm playing around with open ledger today. It has definitely come a long way!

Is there anywhere I can trade with BitBTC as base currency against other assets/cryptocurrencies?

I.e. BTC/USD, BTC/ETH, BTC/MAID?

Is liquidity improving?
EDIT: I Found BitBTC/BitUSD but the liquidity is pretty poor for anyone that wants to trade more than like $100 :/

Also - how do you trust an asset at all? How to choose which one to trade? bitBTC, openBTC, metaxBTC etc..?

Muse/SoundDAC / How do I use MUSE?
« on: April 23, 2016, 07:19:22 am »
Can't seem to find anywhere to download it on the website or how to claim vesting balance etc.
What's the latest on this project? Really want to try it out - is it functioning now?

I just want to say - I love this proactive approach. Very good and exactly what's needed!

This worked for me however I am not seeing any of my NOTES in the import.
This guide is for BTS, you can use the procedure with MUSE as well but some things need to be changed.

First you need to use the MUSE genesis.json file. Secondly, there are some BTS specific variables in one of the scripts. Look for GPH and replace it with BTS, and also BTS should be replaced with MUSE.

Thanks! Will give it a try later

General Discussion / What happened to Max and Bitshares.tv?

Website gone

1 cent two weeks after release
5 cents after current partners utilize operations
15 around Nov
25 cents by christmas.

After BTC halves in 2016 and everyone starts to catch on whats happening we will be 1 dollar.

It's not that I don't want that to happen ahah but I seriously doubt it will be that high

That's why its called speculation :) .. We can dare to dream all we like. At the end of the day it's all blind luck if anybody calls it. :)  Market speculation like bytemaster said the other day is nothing more than legalized gambling.

I have heard some suggest even $1 after 2.0 comes out.

My speculation is on the high side in my estimation of speculations.. sure... but the more people join in a speculation sometimes it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. So lets say 25 cent by Christmas. :)

I don't deny wanting the price to go up but I would much rather it going up in a slow, sustainable fashion from actual organic growth and not wild pump and dump speculation. Don't forget that black swan events can be triggered from upside movements too!

First sentence has typo:
Quote
With the global economy having spent over US$500 billion spent last year on fees for remittances (i.e.

Double spent

Well, I would say journalist is not that wrong here, it says spent twice, but you have to get the meaning here, first it is the global economy having spent the amount, and then comes what it has been spent on, you understand?

hmm i still think it'd read much better with one spent. I get what you're saying and in that scenario it's just missing a coma and it'd read well then ie:

With the global economy having spent over US$500 billion, spent last year on fees for...

Great article though - nice work CCEDK! :)

1-2 cents, providing the simple things like GUI and ease of use aren't neglected as that's what the non techies will be judging the project on

Pump and dumps, only without the pump for bitshares

what i don't get - with 0.20 Dollar each transaction every basic user - micropayment is dead!

I agree, 20c is wayyy too high. Especially considering it's currently 0.1BTS??
The fees will thankfully be adjustable by delegate consensus so hopefully the majority of delegates see sense :)

I love everything about Bitshares 2.0 except for the referral scheme. I think $80 is just too much of a cost per user and decreasing fees 10 fold would be more appropriate. Nobody is going to rant about a 2c fee.

EDIT: I saw that the fee is also paid by the receiver so that also improves things a little. In the case of micropayments this would be factored into the price but I agree it wouldn't work for really tiny payments.
I also think trading on the internal exchange would need to be fee free/very small fees.
