General Discussion / Stop the dilution
« on: April 21, 2017, 02:10:51 am »
I have been one of the earliest followers of bitshares back from the days of keyotee and PTS. I have watched people come and go from Stan and his man Dan to several other very notable players. I am voicing my opinion after being a long time investor and observation get similarities between bitshares dilution and QE and the constant destruction of wealth. I honest can't take watching it amymore without saying something.

Bitshares has been injecting money supply just like QE from the "you name it" central banks. This is where the similarity ends. QE was initially done as a remedy to dollar shortages  worldwide. So why is bitshares injecting and printing money since there is not a liquidity problem? QE has continues at the expense of everyone and we are seeing the identify wealth destruction occur in bitshares? Who in there right mind was to be a long term investor when they know there wealth is purposely being destroyed?

Stop creating more supply. The only people that benefit from said system are the individuals that benefit from money printing.

Bitshares was supposed to be the antithesis to the dollar but over time has taken on much of the same mechanisms of the fiats that it wanted to replace.
I as well as many other will not invest more capital when the continuing theme is to devalue each and every bitshare. Printing money does not create value and you are kidding yourself and others if you think it does.

Technical Support / Re: !!! Stupid Questions Thread !!!
« on: January 30, 2016, 08:15:15 pm »
I have been away from Bitshares for almost a year now and I am still invested.  My stupid questions for today are:
  • Is there a place t oget caught up on the developments? Is there one succinct place that shows a general timeline of developments?  It seems very hard to follow all the developments via the forum.
  • I was once a PTS holder and moved to BTS then BTS 2.0.  Is BTS 2.0 the defacto or is there some other UIA that I should be considering at this point in time?
  • i see all this information about obits and meta exchange?  Is there anyone focused on using BTS as a non-currency transmission system? IT seems that most focus is on currency and replacing fiat.  While this is noble, I like to know if there any BTS projects looking to leverage ledger technology to other business conduct/transmission mechanisms.

Someone mentioned https://bitbalance.azurewebsites.net/

Man, I wish there would be a one go to home page, that has all recent and relevant information. This having to read through the forum is getting exhausting, even for an old timer like me. I went on vacation for few week, come back, and have to start all over again. *sigh*

General Discussion / Re: VOTE DAC Just Got More Interesting
« on: October 16, 2014, 01:41:41 am »

Everyone has their price.

This seems to be admitting the corporations run everything and throwing in the towel. A bit dystopian.

At some point having a vote won't be required. Just have a meeting of the CEOs to decide public policy. Though that's not far from what we have now I'd like to believe we can do better.

BitSharesX is recreating the economic world to be more fair and less centralized. This would do just the opposite to politics.

I am all about a good fight but technology is only a tool for us to use and expand our ideas. While the people here believe in smaller distributed everything we are the minority. It take changes in beliefs systems to change the way things are done. Technology is only a tool in which those belief systems are extended and hopefully amplified.

The other thing is your underestimating the amount of money others have and have the ability to spend.   Our system currently is operated through lobbyist and corporations with virtual unlimited global multinational funding. Never Underestimate the amount others are willing/capable of spending especially when other are operating on longer/extended timeframes.

This is a price discovery killer.  Introduce  option contracts and sell time decay if you want expiries.  Value cannot be found if markets are artificially propped.
