BitShares PTS / Re: AMD OpenCL Momentum miner
« on: February 08, 2015, 10:04:38 pm »
That are the settings for clpts v2.0, that gave the best results for my rig:
  • -g 2 -a 0 for R9 280X
  • -g 3 -a 2 for R9 290 and Windows
  • -g 3 -a 4 for R9 290 and Linux

This took me from 4,879 to 6,099 c/m.

Will try it out for giggles on an Nvidia 970 later (not sure if it will run but will try).

EDIT: Tried for the GTX 970 just to see but would not run. Says no Open CL device found. Kinda weird because some AMD miners still pick it up and some don't.

Not sure what binaries you are referring to that goes in the binary folder.

I just created the bat and ran it from the unzip.
You have to copy the gpuhash_* files of one Catalyst* folder into the binaries folder because the binaries of different Catalyst version are not compatible. Choose the Catalyst* folder according to your Catalyst driver version. If you have Catalyst 14.6 or 14.7 installed, then use the files in the Catalyst 14.9 folder.
EDIT 2: I fixed the README. I used the UNIX newline instead of the Windows newline

Thanks Nan.

I just figured out I had to -u username:password instead of the -u username -p password.

Up and running now.

Huge speed up from the 0.2.2 I was using.

Windows 7 64 bit with driver 14.9 getting 4,879 c/m as it was 3,000 c/m before.

EDIT: I have not used this since version 0.2.2 so if there are big changes I was not aware. Using Windows 7 64 bit. Also the readme is a PITA when you have to scroll left to right to keep reading and the word warp isn't any better.

Is there any way to get more than ~3300cpm out of my 290x ?
I tried it with the latest beta driver but it does not make a difference.

I don't have a 290x but I am running a 280x and getting 3,320 cpm so you should be above that. I am using this flag on the x86-64 version -t 1,1 -a 1

you think can i get 3k cpm from 2 xgtx 680?
No. I think the performance should be around 2140 cpm with 2x GTX 680.

I just noticed that when running the 0.5 it puts a serious load on the cpu. Using a 1100T, I get all 6 cores at 93%-100% load.
Is there a setting to shift all the work to the gpu's?
EDIT: When running the 3b there is virtually no load on the cpu. I have one core that gets to maybe 25%.
Strange behavior, I don't know what happened currently on your system.
The CPU usage should be less than 1% on average even with GTX 660 and AMD Athlon 64 2650e CPU (15W TDP 65nm CPU).
All heavy work is done on GPU in all versions of PtsGPUz.
Thanks for the information you provided.

I believe it is the risers. When I had 2 cards in the pci-e slots everything was fine. I was even running about 1,000 cpm.

I added 2 more cards and had to use risers and that is when it started. Maybe I have a bios setting to do something to the 1x pci-e slots but I have no idea where to look. Running a Giganyte 890GPA-UD3H.

Something new.

I have 4 750ti's on usb powered risers:http://www.hashratesolutions.com/products/6-pack-pci-e-powered-riser-card-60cm-24-usb-3-0-cable

Before I used these I had 2 in the pci-e slots and was getting about 1,000 cpm now I only get 1,900 cpm or 487 cpm per card. It looks like my cards are running at 1x in the pci-e slots. Could that be the reason for the lower cpm?

When I ran another PTS miner I only lost about 40 cpm per card but it originally only got bee 580-600 cpm per card. I would much rather use this one.
Thanks for the information you provided. You are right, it is because low PCI-E bandwidth when using PCI-E 1x risers.
This is the test result of mine:
(Windows 8 x64, driver 334.89, PCI-E 1.1 x1, Single GTX 750Ti)
PtsGPUz0.5.zip x64: 140cpm;
PtsGPUz0.5.zip x86: 96cpm;
PtsGPUz0.3c ~ PtsGPUz0.4c.zip: 100~110 cpm;
PtsGPUz0.3b.zip: 582cpm.

I am trying to fix this. It is recommended to use PtsGPUz0.3b.zip when using risers with GTX 750Ti currently.

I get an access denied when running 0.5 Also AVG always pops up as a virus detected.

Runs perfect on 0.3b.

Any idea on how to get it to connect.

Silly question.

I am running clptsv0.2.2 om ypool.

When I left for work my 280X was running at 2,900 c/m. Now it is only at 2,200 c/m. I restarted it and no difference. didn't change the bat file or anything. Actually my 270, 270X, both 7850's also are running under what they were before.

Would the change in difficulty on ypool affect the c/m? Or might I have something else going on?

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind I figured it out.

@reorder

I just switched back to mining PTS with your miner. It is working now for my Nvidia card, but you probably know this already.

Results are good for me. I am using a GTX 670 and avg about 910-940 cpm, 271 hpm

And I notice no lag doing other things like I did with another one for PTS.

12
Been using this for about half a day on RPool.

RPool shows a total paid out of .090523355

Yet when I run my wallet I don't have one transaction from RPool. Wallet shows up to date with 7 active connections. I have triple checked the wallet address and it matches from my wallet tothe payment in the bat

When does this program take it's fee?

All of my payments from 1GH shows up fine.

13
i can get this to connect to ypool.net no problem but for the life of me can't get it connected to 1gh.com.

any ideas?

i keep getting:
connected to server using x.pushtrough(xpt) protocol
xptserver_recievedata(): packet exeeds 2mb size limit
connectio to server lost

antonio, like on mmc... no way, it is 1gh exclusive miner

Yeah. And thanks

Someone else has a cuda miner working over there.

EDIT: I could not get reorder's working on my GTX670
