Hi Testz,

Tried doing the same with a private key from electrum. Says the key imported successfully but my balance remains 0... Does this just take time? The "rescan Blockchain" Box was ticked when i imported the private key.

Cheers!

edit: Can someone Clarify for me? Do AGS entitle you to Bitsharesx up until the july 19 cutoff? or only up to the Feb 28 snapshot?

General Discussion / Re: Personal Health & Fitness DAC
« on: July 24, 2014, 12:55:33 am »
This is a great idea for a DAC... it seems to me that it must be expanded to be a fairly comprehensive health insurance DAC to succeed and reliably provide incentives for healthy people. I think it is inevitable that something like this happens, its just a matter of finding a model that works.

After reading this post I had the following ideas for a health insurance DAC that i'd like to put out there.

You could allow delegates of the DAC to verify people's overall health, and also allow them to regulate and verify legitimate pay out in the case of claims via financial incentives. Potentially solving the issue of assessment of verifiable data regarding health.

Maintaining membership in the DAC would be subject to a fee(how this is to be determined would be dynamic across stakeholders and dependant on amount of claims vs verified health status vs age of stakeholder). ie: it would be more expensive for people who 1: make more claims 2: aren't yet verified by a delegate 3: are verified but below the threshold status of "Healthy".

Further to the above, the stakeholders who have acquired the "Healthy" status would not be charged for inclusion into the DAC whilst this status is held. - the aquisition of the "Healthy" status would by definition require effort and monetary expenditure by any given person in the form of verified doctor visits/blood tests/age verification(there are more that may need to be included but this is an example).

Healthy Status: would be a threshold at a fixed point above the average health status of stakeholders. A combination of the verifiably measured metrics, claims and age of stakeholders would determine eligibility for this status and people with this status would be subject to review on the same schedule as the fee payment schedule.

To my knowledge alot of this has already been done by current health insurance companies and is tremendously profitable, the difference with a DAC like this would be that its not specifically a "for profit" entity so should be able to provide the insurance desired by people with an interest in their own health for a far lower price than would otherwise be provided by a private corporation. Also, the fact that the DAC gives people financial incentives to be healthy and prove they are healthy vs others is a big plus to members as it would help to keep claims down.

I would also imagine that as there would be healthy competition for the "healthy" status, that the median health status of stakeholders would be measurably higher than the status of non-members.

What are peoples thoughts on this? I don't have the necessary data or expertise in the field of health to come up with a DAC model, but someone who has worked  in finance for health insurance would likely be able to get access to the necessary metadata to be able to come up with a model that works.

Thoughts?
