Hi Justin. Welcome to the forum.

I enjoy reading your articles.
Today I read your article http://www.maxkeiser.com/2015/02/a-brief-recent-history-of-precious-metals-manipulation-investigations/

FYI...
A silver bullion dealer recently announced on the forum they will be accepting Bitshares Bitsilver as a form of payment to purchase physical silver.

Is there any interest in doing the same at your site GOLDSILVERBITCOIN.COM ?

I don't know if the title of the article has changed... but the title actually says :    In Five Years, The Term “Bitcoin” Won’t Exist…And That’s Okay

Best way to keep up on Jim's commentary, is through his twitter feed:  https://twitter.com/jamesgrickards

I find Jim Rickard's explanation of what will happen in the future collapse very insightful:

http://www.bnn.ca/Video/player.aspx?vid=507316

In Jim's book, "The Death of Money", he talks about the importance of a country's Gold reserves to their GDP being how all the world's fiat currencies will get revalued after a collapse in confidence in the USD as world reserve currency. This is why several countries are repatriating their gold reserves right now.

He explains that the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is the only bank in the world that will have the ability to bailout the central banks.

He gets into the role of the IMF Special Drawing Right (SDR), and how it will be used as a reserve currency in the future.

Bitshares delegates, could potentially add the SDR to their BitAssets price feeds. I think that would be very interesting! It would be the only currency that the Bitshares platform can offer to users, that no one else in the world can have except governments.

See SDR price feeds here:  http://www.imf.org/external/np/fin/data/rms_sdrv.aspx

Jim is a big advocate for owning physical gold, and we already know the advantage of BitGold and BitSilver offers through Bitshares. :)

General Discussion / Re: ShapeShift useful for bitUSD?

This is brilliant,  +5%

Now if they can add bitEURO and bitCNY as well, maybe even bitGOLD, then they'll have a full pseudo-fiat <=> BTC service :)

+5%

BitGold and BitSilver and other BitAssets on ShapeShift = Game Changer!

Max Keiser maybe the doorway to other big influencers such as James Rickards (popularly known for his books "Currency Wars" - which everyone in big media is talking about,  and "The Death of Money" - which advocates owning physical Gold in preparation for a collapse of confidence in the United States Dollar).

Just wondering if anyone within the Bitshares community has tried making contact with Max Keiser from RT regarding Bitshares?

Max has been a very strong supporter of the blockchain technologies.

He even did an interview with the developers of MAIDSAFE.

I think Max would be fascinated by the Bit Assets having 300% reserve, along with DPOS etc...

I've been having this problem for the past two weeks.  It has actually kept me from being able to start running a delegate.  Windows 8 here...

fuzzy - how did you fix your wallet trouble?
I noticed on another thread, that you fixed it.

I think this web shopping cart is great for Bitshares! :)

I'm curious if these developments could lead to a Wordpress ecommerce plugin too?

General Discussion / BitGOLD & BitSILVER and other BitCommodities

The US National debt just crossed 18 Trillion.

The following debt chart is alarming.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ed/US_Public_Debt_Ceiling_1981-2010.png

The dollar may look strong, but it's being propped up by debt created through Quantitative Easing.

After the US went off their modified gold standard in 1971, it took ten years for the national debt to reach 1 Trillion. Notice how fast it's grown since then.

Why are countries wanting to repatriate their gold?
Likely because they know that the current system doesn't work and has to change.
Many believe that Gold will be the measure of accounting when the US dollar looses its reserve status, and the world must switch to a new monetary system.
BitGold maybe the best way to hedge against the coming hyperinflation that will occur when the current monetary system collapses.

I would love to invest in bitgold and bitsilver.

After the 2008 financial crisis, both these commodities sky rocketed over 2 years.

It's likely it will happen again, when the us federal reserve does quantitative easing #4, which many predict in 2015.
