MemoryCoin / MMCPOST - Community FAQ
« on: January 28, 2014, 05:27:26 am »
I once said:
If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.
If we could pay for it, it wouldn't be called development.
Send me MMC to prove me wrong.

Me, Seraphim, and Isaac are working on MMCPOST - let's get an FAQ going.

I'll put together a FAQ in this thread.  Community members can add / post questions below for me to answer.

______________________________

MMC Global Board (MMC address TBD) and MMCPost.com (URL TBD).

MMCPOST.COM Never-Asked-Questions:
-or- MAXNAQs

MMCPOST?

MMPOST will act as a social portal, or directory of user profiles, contents, links for "professional" or "developing" MMC users.  Users may create a profile and create on-site content, or post to offsite content.  It is intended for Officers, Miners, Merchants, Volunteers, Project Managers, and Candidates.

MMCPOST will function as a "communication" portal or service directory for individual MMC users.  Virtual currency users spend time across many different sites and disciplines.  MMCPost will allow them to identify and network with other MMC individuals and communities.

Content:

It will allow for the following categories of content per account:

(Initially implemented mainly as bulletin board - text post style.  May develop as we go.  Categories and features subject to change.)

1. Ideas - Initial personal content, output, works-in-progress.  On-site "blog", personal news, updates, etc, or links to offsite accounts.
2. Bids - Individual services, questions, person-to-person trades that an individual profile can provide.
3. Requests - Individual services, questions, person-to-person trades that an individual profile would like to receive.
4. Proposals - Private longer-term or on-going programs, projects, or support that an individual is requesting private or community support, volunteers, or donations.
5. Campaigns - Public service programs, programs, projects, or candidate that an individual supports or contributes to - MVTEcXo or MVTEcha, etc.

Why MMCPOST and not here?

We expect explosive growth in social interaction between small team-based organizations of for-profit commercial-minded individuals.  We want to help them organize, communicate, propose, learn, and develop their own projects, and let the network focus on helping by network design to market charity, training, public service, private development, and capital investment on an individual distributed scale throughout our network of users.  Think open-source virtual community developer networking.

Who needs MMCPOST?

CEO disciplines need it to support common eommunication platforms between officers.
CMO, CSO, and CNO disciplines need it for community promotion, assistance, and market evaluation.
New MMC community members need it for personal development and community assistance.

Who will use MMCPOST?

Anyone who wants to be known in a site-based virtual community– at least in one part of one virtual currency network.

Look at the "post your keyhotee ID and be known" thread...At least those guys! Keyhotee is “protect your identity”, and people are already saying “look at me!” (at least on a forum)...

MMC needs to be bigger.  We will design MMCPOST to support that.

Reply for which topic next:

Sara Cahnah: Charity, Voting, and Secession

T-1000: Newkee Munies

MemoryCoin / When did we get a Newb Guide on memorycoin.org?
« on: January 27, 2014, 05:49:40 pm »
When did this appear?

http://memorycoin.org/newbie-guide/

Who's running memorycoin.org, mmcwiki.com, mmc-chain.com, etc?

Let's get a "hierarchy" of sites and content assigned, so we can organize what officer's maintaining what, focus on what sites to add what content to, etc...

MemoryCoin / Max's Two Dollars
« on: January 27, 2014, 05:24:50 pm »
So, I've decided to move into the forum...blame Freetrade.

You'll have to deal with my annoying posts until seraphim finishes MMCPOST.  I tend to do "couldn't we do X" and "shouldn't we do Y" without knowing how to do either...very frustrating.

It used to be "my two cents"...but inflation.  Now it's "my two dollars".

Anyone who wants me to continue writing up a topic can tip me $2 dollars to do so, or support me as DEO.  I'll be writing regardless...can't stop me...but you can encourage me :)

Vote for me as DEO:

The Dwarves of Pool Moria have awakened Smaug:
MSmaugxBNHhpHEPJnHEzC9UsJtWyJnJxwH

Smaug has arisen from Bter to fund Max's Mine for the Dwarven Sect of Max's Mining Union.

Max's Mine buys newly-minted MMC from Dwarven Miners and sells MMC from exchange posts.

Members of the Mining Union register their mining address by sending 1 Vote to:

MAXMinevK5EPyw2fditvrzosy9nCTR6pd1

Registration supports network analysis and marketing by providing network incentives and measuring network data.  Community-trusted accounts are eligible for premium rates.

MemoryCoin / MMCBANK - Max's Mine Buys Mint MMC
« on: January 22, 2014, 06:43:47 pm »
Anyone interested in an easy +2% on new coins?

I will trade my exchange-bought coins for your new coins (mined or Officer-paid) at a 2% premium.

Why? Well, I want you to vote for Max's Mine from your mining address to "register" it as a part of Max's Mining Union.  The Union will verify that your account is accepted by voting back, as discussed below.

This will provide network info to support price and network analysis about size of pools /  users / etc to support network analysis.

Similar service models can be used to verify different address qualities or conditions.

I use Proof / Mint / Circulated as categories of wallet "conditions", like you'd use as conditions for real coins.  I use these to distinguish if KYC document is submitted / traceable.  But you could change that label to anything and still get the idea - trusted / blessed / shiny / etc.

(Note: Sorry, US members only)
________________

Max's Mine will Buy:

100 Mint MMC from Miner Addresses for 102 Circulated MMC
100 Mint MMC from Candidate Addresses for 102 Circulated MMC

Max's Mine definitions:

Proof Coin:

New coins as first awarded to pool operators, solo miners, or Officer or Charity addresses.

Mint Coin:

New block coins distributed to community Miners, Deputies, or Managers with chain-of-custody verification to original block.  Quality is assigned based on network address and history.  Mint coins are "1-individual" away from Proof Coin, or have a traceable chain-of-custody if multiple individuals away.

Circulated Coin:
Coins in addresses without chain-of-custody verification to original block (e.g., exchange-bought coins), or addresses with coins of mixed quality.  Circulated coins have an unverified / untraceable chain-of-custody to original block.

Limitations:

Max's Mine requires identity (ID) and expense verification (utility bill) from sellers of Mint MMC.  Subject to funding availability.
Min Qty = 100 Mint MMC.

Directions:

To register your mint mine, send 1 MMC Satoshi from your mining address to:

MAXMinevK5EPyw2fditvrzosy9nCTR6pd1

PM / post / email to confirm and send ID / expense report and payout address.

Payout address may receive Circulated condition coins, and should be separate from any mining address.  Mining addresses may have funds returned - do not deposit directly from a pool payout, only deposit from personal mining wallet.

Upon approval to community standards, Max's Mine will send 1 Satoshi each to verify mining address and payout address.  At any time after account acknowledgement, send Mint MMC (min qty or greater).  Payee address shall respond with Circulated or greater MMC to payout address.

Note: You may register (i.e., vote) without sending documentation, but would not be allowed to trade without verification of community trust.  Any funds received from an unverified address will be returned.  A registered unverified account will still provide mining data to support network analysis and may be eligible for other benefits.

MemoryCoin / MMCBANK - Max's Miners' Union & Community Trust
« on: January 22, 2014, 04:20:43 pm »
So, for the accountants, business owners, lawyers / etc - any general legal topics / advice to let people know about?

I've got a fun idea...how about an mmc/usd exchange?

"Voting" is the basic function necessary in business for a sole proprietorship to scale-up / develop into another business class (LLC, partnership, etc.).  With the voting and "auto charity" parts of the DAC, I think you could develop a model that leads to a real-world fiat-MMC credit union style business.

Combine the concepts of a nonstock (nonprofit) corporation, cooperative, a business trust, and a partnership, and you may be able to "legally" authorize (entrust) someone to operate a checking account on behalf of the MMC community members that person votes for.

Let's say the account is for operating funds such as payroll.  Let's say the co-op hires / contracts people to mine new coins.  As part of employment record, co-op may ask for ID and utility bill (if required by bank provider).  Co-op "votes" for employee miner address to approve / "hire".  Miner sends new coins to co-op's mmc address, co-op pays wages (income) from checking account to miner.  Co-op maintains any responsible documentation / records / tax records / etc.

Isn't that basically a community / non-profit accounting service, credit union, or financial trust?

MemoryCoin / [Poll] Electricity Consumption
« on: January 21, 2014, 06:48:50 am »
Over in the hardware comparison thread, we have not really collected any power consumption data:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=1803.0

I'd like to revive that by guessing how many windmills the network is using per block.

I'll collect my own power consumption data, compare to network stats, and calculate the overall power consumption for MMC in terms of 100 kW windmills.

The more data I have, the more accurate I can get.  If you have access to a kill-a-watt or similar, please let me know your stats.

It may take me a few days, so in the meantime, you can submit your guess above.

If you submit your own data, please include your hardware data and hash rate like in the cpu/gpu thread, along with any custom clock settings, and watts at the outlet while both idle and mining.

E.g.:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz: 4.936 hash/min
Idle Power: X Watts
Mining Power: Y Watts

Radeon 7990 undervolted to 1050 mv 21h/m
Idle Power: X Watts
Mining Power: Y Watts

Keyhotee / Keyhotee Economics
« on: January 20, 2014, 10:12:15 am »
Watched the video, browsed some forum posts, but still big gaps in my understanding regarding economics for operation / mining / pricing / etc...

It seems like keyhotee is basically a wallet address with a client behind it that can push / pull commands onto a distributed blockchain?

Will there be mining? What algorithm / hardware wrt network security and 51%?  Would there be a market to re-sell to keep miners mining? Would that market only be based on "buying an ID to use with keyhotee"? Would there be transaction fees, user sign-up or site license fees, etc?

Kind of just trying to figure out "who's gonna pay for all this, and how?"

MemoryCoin / MMCPOST - Community Procurement Specification
« on: January 17, 2014, 11:44:39 pm »
This thread will provide a general site description and features requested by the community for MMCPOST.com.  See the thread below for overall project description:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2406.0

This is kind of..."let's see if we can use MMC to reverse-engineer Google Sign-in / +1"...everything seems familiar, except we're doing it a bit backwards...

Basically, we want to develop and demonstrate how a wallet ID could be used as a "universal sign-in" for social media sites, while also trying to organize some of the on-going community projects.  Votes from this wallet could be used as a "universal follow" method for existing social media interfaces.

First, we plan to make a site to "re-base" all the on-going project information, "MMC-worthy" news, etc from community members to make it easier to navigate and organize by user profile.  Then, we can research and play with some of the social networking applications of MMC.

We'll have the typical "like / dislike" functionality for content rating, so users can vote to rank which project / content / etc other community members should focus on, and to "follow" other users.

The site would create a new MMC wallet as a "User ID" and the wallet would "vote" on the MMC blockchain when a user "follows" another user.  This way, users may voluntarily submit MMC address info to other sites and link followers at another site through the blockchain.  We plan to maintain content ratings on-site.  (Storing content ratings in the blockchain would result in excessive network load.)

This is basically using the MMC network as a universal sign-in and user-submitted cookies (bread-crumbs?) in the blockchain.  Except, personal info would be distributed and site-specific instead of controlled at a single central repository.  Sites could be designed with different market focuses, different registration requirements, and different rating values, yet still allow linking and following of MMC users across sites.

Please provide any comments or requests.  Below is a more formal write-up.

Community Procurement Specification

Objective:

MMCPOST shall provide Execution, Network, and Marketing support functions.

Description:

MMCPOST shall function as a community development and networking site.    Officers, Candidates, Charities, Volunteers, and other community members may create or post links to off-site blog posts, trade offers, volunteer requests, community project proposals, MMC candidate campaign information, or other social networking user accounts.  Site shall allow users to rank content of other members and provide site navigation and search optimization based on content ranking.

A. User Profiles

Each user may maintain a site profile with content or off-site links for the following:

1. Blog - User posts of comments, suggestions, opinions, editorials, or news for the MMC
2. Storefront - User posts volunteering services to or offering services from other individual MMC members
3. Proposals - User-developed project proposals for community development or funding (Non-MVTE)
4. Campaigns - User-maintained campaign support pages for candidate projects (MVTE addresses)

B. Content Ranking

Site shall allow users to vote and/or rate content and links of other users.  Site shall provide search and navigation based on site ratings and/or MMC network ratings. Site shall maintain content ratings on-site.

Site shall allow users to "follow" another user.  Site shall create a new MMC wallet as a "User ID" for each user account.  The site wallet shall "vote" on the MMC blockchain when a user "follows" another user.  Users may voluntarily submit this ID to other sites and link followers through the blockchain.

MemoryCoin / MMCPOST - Community Project Plan
« on: January 17, 2014, 10:49:08 pm »
Seraphim, Isaac, and I are working on developing MMCPost.com and would like input from the community on features / etc.  Distributed project management is somewhat tricky, and distributed autonomous project management is, well...

So the first item is getting community input on general project structure.  There's tons of management systems out there, so parts should be familiar to some, or some may be used to other terminology, etc.  This would be overkill for most small or quick tasks, but MMC may have more and larger projects in the future....

Community Project Plan

The team will have its own development site for brainstorming, and will maintain on-site forum threads as shown below.  The first thread is for general management / status update advice and comments.  A second "procurement" thread will be for general description, site features, and community requests - goals, requirements, etc.  The third would be a "development" thread to outline technical details site implementation, and community technical input or advice.

The difference is difficult to describe without seeing an example, but we'll update and adapt as we go along.

  • Community Project Plan - Project description
  • Community Procurement Specification - Feature requests and site requirements
  • Community Development Specification - Site specification and implementation

The team will have three lead volunteers.  The Project Manager for execution and overall project coordination.  The Community Manager for procurement management and site review.  The Community Developer for technical lead and overall site implementation.

I've volunteered team members for those positions as follows:

  • Project Manager - isaacgoldbourne
  • Community Manager - MaxPWR
  • Community Developer - Seraphim

Please provide any comments on project structure / terminology / etc.
I should have the "Procurement" thread written-up shortly.

MemoryCoin / [CHA] Re-start Campaigns
« on: January 13, 2014, 06:18:24 am »
Our charity Horizontality.org has 25 wins, with little information disclosed in English concerning their operations:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2232.0
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2232.msg27063#msg27063

Most supporting addresses are only voting for that charity and no other officers.  The only supporting addresses of that charity voting for officers are voting for emre & s4l1h.

http://mmcvotes.com/address/MVTEchagLNup4HJycBxbxWVXdiXaWLvbDu

I'm casting 9 votes to kill the coins until we get more information:
MVTEcha11111111111111111111116GDGs

I'll clear those votes as soon as we get more info from Horizontality and/or other charity candidates can re-campaign to take control.

MemoryCoin / [CEO Support] Max Power Project Funding
« on: January 11, 2014, 11:27:25 am »
Hey guys,

I've got some neat ideas for some sites...but not much web development knowledge.  IRL, I've been a mechanical systems engineer, driven forklifts and cranes, inspected nuclear fuel rods, managed a team of six, led multi-million dollar projects, and presented to top industry regulators.  In MMC, I play a never-ending devil's advocate spawned from the pure evil that is capitalism.

Itzik's doing a good job marketing outside MMC and Serter (stalemate) will help to bring in more merchant services.  Freetrade and the others have made some progress on the back-end for voting, and now the Community can take a look into developing some front-end services.

I've got some ideas of what we could do, but need to write them up and hand-off for some web and programming support, etc.   My project letter is below for initial development funds.  I'm an engineer, so it's written a bit formal like a specification / contract...let me know your thoughts, and I'll check back in about 12 hrs or so.

Disclosure:

I am currently voting for officers from:
MNMRYcnTE3XWtBWn2Grt5DcewHveFb6E3s

(Note to Officers: Voting address below is new - please update candidate list - thx)

Max Power
CEO Funding Request

Please send Satoshi to the following address to vote:
MVTEceoftKAgPVbf7BgbqkPaRmKoZdbZRQ

Introduction

I am seeking up to 3 days of funding from the community block awards on a temporary basis. After this time, the block awards shall be returned to the previous officer.  If additional funds are needed at a later time, I would re-campaign.

The community and I will use these funds to research and develop the areas of transparency and transaction history in the MMC blockchain.

Development Plans

I own and would like to develop the following domain names further to benefit the community:
  • mmcpost.com / mndpost.com
  • mmcbank.com
  • mymemorycoin.com

The corresponding .BIT domains have also been registered in the NameCoin blockchain.  The text of this message shall be stored in the DataCoin blockchain.  The DataCoin TXID may be made available upon request.

Site 1 is being developed as an MMC special-interest forum for posting trade offers, proposals, and requests between individuals, contractors, merchants, and the Community.  It may include future options for submission to the DataCoin and/or NameCoin blockchains for independent record-keeping.  See the following introductory post for more information:

http://mmcpost.boards.net/thread/1/mmcpost-com-mndpost-introduction

Site 2 may be developed as a Community bank, trust, or credit union for Officers to deposit Community funds prior to disbursal.  This Community Trust may be used to cast votes for Officers, provide internal exchange liquidity between MMC community members, and fund Community Projects.

Site 3 may be used with Site 2 to allow a user to submit, store, and retrieve MMC address ownership, chain data, balances, or vote histories from single or multiple wallets.   Alternatively, this functionality could be included in Site 2.  In that case, Site 3 may be developed as a user-specific content ranking website and/or browser plugin.

Program Details

I will disclose budget details, and the community would help to develop address traceability in the BlockChain. Any movement of the funds would be discussed and pre-planned with the forum community. The community and I may fund web development bounties to be awarded to community members.

The current budget plan is to evenly distribute any funds received between three accounts, as follows:

1) Account 1 shall fund the purchase of healthcare.gov payments for myself and my fiance's mother. They may leave the MMC network at any time under my discretion.  I shall be responsible for private record requirements and traceability.

2) Account 2 shall fund a personal CEO MMC account under my control.  They shall be used as  salary and/or to fund personal bounties within the MMC network.  The funds may leave the MMC network at any time under my discretion, but are expected to remain mostly within the network.  Transfers may be listed after the fact and do not require community pre-approval.

3) Account 3 shall fund a community CEO MMC account under my control.  The funds shall be used for tips and community-approved bounties for supporting community developers through mmcpost.com.  Transfers shall be pre-approved and/or reviewed by the community.

Communications shall consist of forum and/or blog posts with status updates, daily site updates, and PMs and/or email. Transaction histories shall be available and verifiable in the MMC blockchain.

Work shall begin on configuration and set-up of Site 1.  Site specifications for Sites 2 and 3 shall be developed and posted through Site 1 following initial set-up.

MemoryCoin / Voter Addresses and Voting for Non-VTE addresses
« on: January 09, 2014, 09:08:05 pm »
I want some specific behavior out of my wallets / voting to give good traceability / etc.

I created a new QT wallet, and imported my "root" address below:
MAXPWRbxGMfUpHR4tVvzDdFtvhPcNRCABT

Sent a payment to my root address, then I imported the following addresses into the same qt wallet:
MAXceo5ySwVvxWnP12psHKvNhze9T8Csrn
MAXcmoW9JuPyTPp7LHLQgbK9ajXLgy2Ec2

Sent 1 Satoshi to each of the above addresses from the wallet.

That's intended to link them / show ownership in the blockchain for traceability.  I want to use those as "cXo Support" addresses - kind of like being a contractor - for any payments / support from others for "generic" cXo support instead of just competing over votes at an MVTEcXo address.

E.g., officers or non-officers could send a satoshi / donation / payment to those addresses to indicate I've been contributing to current officers or those general roles in the community.  The blockchain history of those could be used to calculate a "trust" ranking and be linked back to my main root address.

Now...how do I confirm they're set-up correctly?  Any recommendations for how to setup the wallets? Should I be using separate wallet.dat files for the "Root" addresses and the "Support" addresses? Etc

1) Is this even possible with bitcoin? I may remember hearing that bitcoin is really destroying the original address / sending the remaining original balance to a new address / etc...

2) Chainbrowser doesn't seem to show anything coming out of the root address - does chainbrowser show transfers of 1 satoshi?

3) Does mmcvotes only show votes to MVTE addresses, or votes to any address?

4) mmcvotes is also currently only showing 1 vote from my root address to FaSan, but I've also voted for other officers.  I think I saw all my votes on mmcvotes a few days ago, but now just FaSan.  Can you vote for more than one address from the same balance and have them count? (or will #1 prevent that?)

Overall, it may look like I need to maintain separate wallet.dat files for each address, and use separate addresses/balances to vote for separate officers...that's a lot of manual work to try to maintain my own accounting / update votes / etc...

Any suggestions?
