Is it normal speed?i feel not fast enough

Thanks
I got the screens to work finally.

I am more of a windows person not so much for linux.

Now with a 2cpu 2 gig memory, how fast should I be able to mine at?
This is different from bitcoin and litecoin so I don't know if I understand it.
I get like 15 c/m and 1.8 sh/m.

Is that good or bad?

I was just following the guide and it said to setup with 2 cpu and 2 gig of memory.

Thanks for the reply.
Your right I am probably never going to get my investment back on protoshare.

I will try the screen -r thing to see if I can run it without putty.

my speed is about super low now.  I will try the screen thing and get back to ya.

instead of multiple threads you can also start multiple processes of the miner (incase you have problems with threads)

check how much MB Ram your vserver has and ensure that Threadcount*ram used per thread does not exceed your total ram (leave some ram unused for the OS) - if you violate that -> "killed"

to not leave putty on use the Scren application:

screen -S "name" opens a new screen (like a new browser tab)
then start your process and you can exit putty now
when come back use screen -r and your back where you have been

some miners have stats that are hard to understand as a beginner... you have to mine for a couple of hours or a full day (until some blocks are found) inorder to see how good your doing roughly - use the pool stats for this

there are tons of mining calculators out there, not sure if they work for PTS - but to use them you need a better understanding of what your doing and some stats (at least c/m or cpm)
i also rented 2 vservers - after testings my rough estimates are that i get 10% back of what i invested - especially when GPU mining of PTS is going now this value should even decrease
so if the servers arent free for you, you should just give it up ;)

cheers

HELP :'(

How do you know if your actually mining with the digital ocean server?
I can not seem to use threads higher then 2.  Always crash if I do.

Also do I need to leave putty on?
Can I close putty and will it still  be running on the vps?
How do I restart the miner when I go back in from putty?

Is there a way to see how fast ur going at?

Am I dumb to do this when people are talking about using cuda and gpu to mine this?

Is there a mining calculator out there that we can estimate how much we can earn from PTS?

SOME ONE HELP ME PLS!!!!! THIS IS SO CONFUSING AND DIFFERENT FROM LITECOIN.

Thank for the PM's I've been getting. A few people have been emailing me too. Just wanted to say when you email me include your question in the email, don't reference me to a thread on a board where you posted your question. Thanks!
