Our approach will probably be something similar. We are thinking about building a Dominant Assurance Contract (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assurance_contract#Dominant_Assurance_Contracts) platform where the Delegate funds become the Assurance contract collateral. To vote on projects the community will put up Kickstarter-style Bitshares/BitUSD. This way more total funds could be raised an the community can be sure that only the projects they fully support are being worked on.

Furthermore, all backers would get "share" tokens of that project, so if anything like Occulus Rift happens and the project is bought up by some bigger entity there will be financial rewards for the backers too.

I though about helping bitshares ecosystem.
But in reality it is whatever the community votes for.

I was wondering how will the community react to a delegate that uses the fees collected to fund projects beneficial to the bitshares ecosystem.
You can see description of the idea at http://angel.bitdelegate.org . Also on the site you can find a poll to express your opinion on the topic.

I hope to get some feedback on this so we can decide if we should continue with the realization of the idea.
