Is an exchange like bter.com a good place to keep my PTS?

Thanx all, I made transfers to an exchange and it took soooooo long, are the exchanges not as secure as wallet's? Why?

I read some exchanges has disappeared with investors BTC/fiat money.  Just bough me some shares and I feel really nervous as an early investor as the client doesnt even connect to the block source.  Some admin drop me a link to a download and still nothing.  Now my PTS sits on an exchange right now vulnerable.  This is unacceptable.

Hi

Transferred BTC from https://bter.com/signup/16750 and received in desktop wallet within 10 mins.

Other coins have taken longer i.e. Litecoin - 30 mins to confirmation.

Still I wouldn't keep more than a small amount anywhere other than in qt wallet just in case.

BTW don't need to use referral link just go to bter - all my links on a spreadsheet as easier to pick up.

Hi Bitstrader,

I only use bter for exchanging - I would not advise keeping your coins on an exchange just in case...

Now that I have a few PTS I want to keep them safe while I use them, I need to know if an exchange is a good place to keep them while I add more to my personal wallet, has anybody had issues with there transactions on an exchange? Have there been times that you cannot access your funds? Any other pertinent information would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
